Yep, thats easily worthy of praise in this thread about european football.

    Well done!

As soccerc states, the bulbs might be quality, but the ground isn't good enough

It might be next year. This year it isn't.

Fans of clubs looking for a ground suitable enough know these things.

    Still, enjoy your bulbs!

Or a financial god-send, depending on your view

I feel like I SHOULD be at every City away game in Europe. It casued me all manor of turmoil over the Sofia fixture, and saw me lose the cost of a flight without making the game.

Had the match been behind closed doors, it would've saved me all the hassle....

ya, thats it, i particularly like these two columns:

"This isn't called devotion to a team. It is enslavement to a brand. All those baby-soap complexions peering out the windows of the Liverpool team bus last week pretty much represented just the recreational arm of a great conglomerate. "

"If anything, the timing headlined the strangeness of it all. On the day 'Liverpool' came to Dunmanway, Cork City just about side-stepped a Revenue winding-up order over tax liabilities and St Patrick's Athletic secured a remarkable European victory in Russia. "

Perhaps they could at least, have had the game in Turners cross, pay in and a percentage to both

Letter in the Guardian's fiver on Friday

"Maybe all these gaelic games fans writing in from Ireland looking for a football fix (Fiver letters passim) might like to comment on St Patrick's Athletic's Big Vase success in Russia last night? Didn't think so. They're probably too busy studying the TV schedule for the upcoming Premier League season"
(The Fiver use the euphemisim Big Vase for UEFA cup)

but Rafa Benitez and his boys were in Sweden on pre-season chores.
Anyone with even a passing interest in the club would have been aware of that.
Weren't Liverpool in Norway? I agree with the article, but I guess it's ok that he, as a journalist, didn't know where the first team was while all those with a passing interest did.

My point was any revenue generated would go to the Munster FA, not Cork City FC.

I gathered what your point was, but i was suggesting they could come to some arrangement given the predicament they found themselves and there was a throng of people just 20 - 30 miles away wanting to watch football

I see ITV are showing Athletico Madrid v Panathinaikos in the Champions League.
If we all emailed BBC Sports Department, ITV Sports and Sky Sports asking could they broadcast the St Pats game because our national broadcaster refuses to then maybe, just maybe....
I know what you're all saying "What a daft idea". I know it is. Nearly as daft as someone from Dunmamway contacting Liverpool FC etc etc etc......
