    Newcastle 1-0 Askeaton.
A good game but a terrible result for Askeaton.
The only way I can describe this is daylight robbery. Askeaton dominated from the first minute until the last but the ball just wouldnt go in. Missing Foley and Griffin was the difference. Newcastle looked solid enough at the back but produced nothing up front.

Two big games on next weekend. Best of luck to Askeaton and Newcastle against two Limerick City sides. Would be great to come home with two wins, great for the league

Griffin had family commitments as for Foley I honestly don't know where he was so I can't say.

    Abbeyfeale Utd

I went to see the Abbey vs Broadford match on Sunday. Abbey dominated for 70 min. They look a really good team but play a very high line and are not exactly blessed with pace at the back, still though I think they will win the league this year. I know they are 6 points behind Rathkeale, but Rathkeale have Abbey to play twice, Broadford to play twice and Newcastle to play in Newcastle. I dont think Rathkeale are capable of winning any more that 1 of those 5 games, where as I think Abbey are capable of doing a real number on Rathkeale now that they seemed to have hit form. As for poor auld Askeaton, I am afraid the game is up.

I would have to agree that Abbeyfeale will take points off the top teams before the league is over but i don't think they will be able to do enoughto win the league.
Askeaton however i think are finished. Good team with great heart but the loss of carrig and whelan is a big blow. Also ive been told that Ray Foley will be signing for a new team later on this week so that will be a big loss.

I wouldnt have rated Abbey either before last week, but they are well organised and have the forwards to score goals, I have seen Rathkeale and to be honest I dont rate them at all. As for Foley, he too is very over rated
