In all fairness considering how close you were to going out of business in Waterford only last year, should you be really be laughing at Bohs?

    Where do Bohs stand now?

Presumably the title of the original Indo article "Win or Bust for Bohs" was inaccurate from the start - going "bust" was just a good headline and was never a likely consequence of failing to beat Salzburg?

Most poeple - including Bohs Finance Director Chris Brien - seem to accept that exceeding the 65% cap is inevitable and that FAI sanctions, including relegation, will therefore follow.

But is the 65% breach really so cut and dried?

Bohs remain hot favourites to win the league, and the €280,000 prize money that goes with it, and have in Gary Deegan and Brian Murphy players who could potentially attract €150,000 plus in UK transfers.

Add in a possible cup run, wage trimming through free transfers, and other fund raising possibilities, surely it is not impossible to pull in well in excess of €500,000 - €600,000 that was never guaranteed?

I hate to see all the clowns on here trumpeting the fact that Bohs are now in serious trouble. We are all LOI fans here. This is a bad news story, no magtter what club you support - it is another stick for the rest of the country to beat us with. I am personally very sad - and very angry - at/with Bohs for losing tonight, a win would have done wonders for the league. But this defeat, and what it might possibly mean, well . . . . . .

In normal circumstances, I'd agree with you. Not in this instance.

Regardless of who you support, a win tonight for them would have rewarded a policy of outrageous cheating and blatant financial recklessness, which was allowed to continue no matter how many times they were warned about it. Not to mention how it affected other clubs ability to compete in our league.

We, on the other hand, took our medicine, and built our club up from the other division. And if we are in Europe next year, it will be the result of hard work, not monopoly money.

Brian Murphy probably put himself in the shop window tonight and Bohs will sell. That, plus the revenue from tonight and future winnings and gates (friendly with Liverpool etc) I think they'll be safe. They will lose players, and maybe a manager over the next 10 months, but their place in the premier league? No way.. and let's not forget, they'll also have a chance at Champions Lg once again this time next year..

There is more rejoicing in heaven......

The rest of the league might be more willing to congratulate you for your genuine and praiseworthy rebuild of your club if y'all weren't so quick to get in there first. And you do seem rather to forget that you lot were as guilty as any one else and for longer of the things you're happy to accuse us of until you were forced to do the right thing.

Its a lesson that shoulda been learned by the mistakes of others and bad news for Bohs alone and good enough for the Bohs fans who let it happen nobody to blame but themselves .

Does any self-respecting LOI fan ever drink Red Bull again? DG says no...

Lets try to make sure Red Bull's marketing costs them more sales than it bought? Seems like as cruel justice as it was that Bohs lost tonight, regardless of the wisdom/foolishness of their financial moves.
