    Internet Search Engine

I start this by saying I am not too PC savvy.

Google has been my search engine since I got my PC a few years ago. Yesterday I opened it up and was trying to get on this site. However my mouse fell and in picking it up I think i must have done something which messed it up. I am now getting up a message to say that yahoo is now my search engine but cannot even get that to work.

Could anybody give me a heads up on what I should do to restore Google as my search engine

    Thanks

On Your desktop right click on your mouse which should bring up a menu and at the bottom of that list click on properties. When you click on properties it brings up another option and under the general tab type in http://www.google.ie/ as your home page. Should solve the problem.
Why are people who "need no introduction" always introduced?

Is it your default page (when you open your browser) or the search engine used when you type something into the toolbar of your browser?

If it's the former then, assuming its internet explorer, open the browser and in the top menu goto

    Tools > Internet Options

And as prince20 suggests set the default page there in the general tab.

If it's the search engine then click the arrow beside the magnifying glass and select google or find more providers if its not there. That's assuming (ie6 or above, i think).

If you use Firefox, just hit the arrow beside the Y in the search box and google should be in there. Or it should be tools > options and under main tab for setting the homepage.

    Hope that makes some sense.

If you've got some mad toolbars installed from somewhere you're on your own
