Never got into 09 myself. Actually went back to 08. And to answer the original question it's been a fairly disappointing season given how we finished the previous campaign but between the Magician's disappearing act, an unfortunate injury list, the FAI nonsense I'm just glad we're holding on.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

09 is a bugger to get right, no killer tactic out there. Agree 100% about our season, just glad we've a game to go to next friday night.

It's been a disappointing season so far, even a few weeks back we were robbed by chance against St. Pat's

I'll keep my fingers crossed that we can pull a rabbit out of the hat and land ourselves a Top 3 finish, but it's not likely. I'll just be glad the team's still here.

thought scullys appointment a decent one but the season has so far been a shocker.bar the league game v ucd we have been poor, scullys instinct is a defensive one so we were never going to see open football but some of what been produced has been terrible, given the squad we have....had....and injury aside....our league placing should be better.players look like their playing in fear,no confidence and our shape for many games left us bereft of any ideas especially going foward ,and lets face it we dont score enough goals, also scully does,n do man management as we are presently seeing, tommy and young walsh,if his departure is fact, are testimony to that..more will follow.we are all glad we still have a team to support but given scullys c.v. what we are getting on the pitch is not good enough, maybe that big folder under his arm is a bit dated.

Scully doesn't so man management, we knew that before he came in. He expects players to give a certain level of commitment and I'm with him 100% on that. You only have to look at Cobh in the 2007 season to see how far a decent squad that is totally dedicated to the cause can go in this division

+1. The honeymoon period is over for Scully. I dont know whats going on with the ins and outs in the squad at the moment but I'd like to assume he has some sort of master plan behind it all!

Things aren't going well for Scully and the team at the moment but i think it is essential that Limerick hang onto him for the start of next season. Limerick needs stability, not a new manager every season. He needs time to assemble the team he wants and how he wants them to play. He's only been with Limerick for 3 months so its hard to be expecting too much immediately.

I've not been to too many games this season, and therefore keep my counsel on a lot of things but this guy Scully is a bit of a joke if you ask me. If you don't have footballers, then by all means, hoof it as high and hard as you can. If you have guys that can and want to play ball, then surely you encourage them to do so. Kerley might have been a lot of things, and I am glad he's gone, but at least good football was played and the players enjoyed it.

Releasing Danagher is just bad form. He didn't want to go...he was pushed. Walsh I believe walked because of the training and type of ball being played and I believe that a number of others aren't happy either.

And bear in mind that Pat Scully isn't dedicated to Limerick. Thats for sure. He's here because he was unemployed and can't get work elsewhere. 600 a week until an offer from closer to home comes along. He has no contract and is being paid by means outside of the clubs remit. Expect this guy to be gone quicker than lightning if anything at all becomes available.

    Foot.ie!

i,m with joe on this one,i am not danaghers greatest fan but he is the ideal centre half for this div plus he chips in with a few goals.by all accounts he is not part of scullys ....plans....which is indeed ironic given scully has no contract so how on earth is planning done without one.
