And of course it would help if you got your facts right:

    1) The game was played on 4th January 2009 and 'not at the end of last season',

    2) When the game was played Celtic still had an outside change in the league so to say 'they weren't too concerned about who won the league' is wrong.

    3) I was at that game and can assure you an understrength Celtic team gave it their all.

Your snide comment is way out of order and if you had any decency you would withdraw it. If you made a comment like that on the radio show you crave for you would end up in court.
Jaysus, one off the cuff comment and you're accusing people of libel! Grow up.

My point is that last season Celtic lost 6 nil to Michael’s. That is a fact.My apologies for suggesting that it was near the end of the season. However They weren’t too bothered about who won the league.
If I have offended anyone, well I am sorry but I also think your court quip is over the top. Stop being so sensitive.

If you didn't post such ridiculous statements I wouldn't need to be sensitive. You talk about the integrity of Clonmel Town and then you suggest this concept is missing when it comes to Clonmel Celtic and you make reference to their loss in Tipperary last season. Once again I repeat you were wrong when you state 'they weren't too bothered who won the league'. Why do you mention Celtic's loss to St Michaels? What was the significance of your statement. You tried to insinuate that Celtic weren't bothered and you were wrong.

In the 2006/07 season Town finished 1 point ahead of St Michaels and in the run in to that season Celtic beat St Michaels 3-1. If they had not won that game St Michaels would have won the league.

You should give serious throught to what you post before you press the button 'submit reply'.

You made a serious accusation and you are trying to brush it off by saying I am too sensitive. The decent thing to do would be to withdraw statement and say you were wrong.

So you don't have any issue with clubs being accused of throwing games?

You mention the word libel which in these circumstances means 'a false statement that could damage a club's reputation'. Niow go back and read the orignal post and then engage your brain.

No prob, apology accepted. Maybe my reaction was a bit OTT. Actually I do hope Town win both Munster and FAI, and that from a Celtic fan!

Roberto, I understand perfectly what the definition of the word libel is and I think you are over engaging your own brain, and maybe you should read back over the last page or so. The sensitivity displayed is one of the reasons non users of foot.ie criticise it so much. People are only thinking aloud sometimes when they post on here. This doesn't mean that every thought or notion should be sanctimoniously ceased on and used against the poster. I'm not a Celtic supporter but I didn't take any inference from any comment that Celtic would ever 'throw' a game. And, for the record, I don't believe such a fine club would either.

Damo, I take your point. However some people on here think that because it is an anonymous forum they can say what they want. I think that people who make erroneous or vexatious statements should be challenged, otherwise the quality of this forum will never be improved.

def no problem between villa and town. town are a great club and my money would be on them winning 1 of the big competitions, just dont think they are good enough to win 2. however i wish the players all the best and would be happy to be proved wrong. would be great for all the players and for the many genuine people involved

I would have to disagree with you there, Ron. I don't think there is any doubt that Clonmel Town are good enough to win both.

Sorry Guys, But from what i've seen lately from town their a good team but not good enough to win both. I think that Carrick will win the Munster. It will be close but they will just shade it.

I don't think Town are world beaters and certainly not the best Town side of all time. That said, they are very hard to beat. the defence is excellent but with Raymie probably gone for the season they won't be as strong in that department. Mind you Stephen Ryan was superb last Sunday.
Any word on any of the appeals in FAI and Munster?
