On the subject of Turners Cross - never played there or managed a team there - various semi final appearances in cups but never that elusive final - even though Hibs had a reasonably good record there in the mid- 90s
Howdy the owl - yeah we keep getting scheduled for home games by the AUL - the undersoil heating is giving trouble out in Monard though - horse start paying the bills will you!!! The pitch was ok on Saturday last week but still dangerous none the less! We will try to play it if we can but if the weather stays like this i dont know

Happy New Year to you all, and may your seasons be successful.......less successful than ours, but successful!!
On the honours question, I have a league winners medal from Schoolboys,AUL, Niteowls & Astro Leagues......four different leagues!! Just a good shave and Im trying for the Ladies league!!
On the Cross, been there once as asst manager/waterboy etc for Blackstone and we won with an 89th minute winner, so 100%.
Do you think the Fix Sec deliberately avoids fixing home fixtures for dodgy pitches over the winter months, or is it a set formula for fixtures in general ie, the pitch isnt taken into consideration?
Mr Owl, we will probably look to leave the ref call it unless it gets really bad. Should be a decent game.
Anyone read the West Cork soccer book yet? id say it would be excellent.
Littleman ye cant be to happy about losing hala?? But one thing for sure i thaought we would win the league before... Might as well give us our medals now hahah
Only joking people but glad to have him back he is a very good footballer
alright lads ive bein threatenin to join ye for awhile so i finally did, go to alot of aul matches so lookin forward to given my opinion

Thats a shock. Didnt see him yet this year but heard he took going up to Premier like a duck to water. Weeman is not a happy bunny but thats football. He was with ye a handy few years i remember him about 4 years ago against us (Ballyphehane),he did ok that day even tho we beat ye 5-0 in Crossbarry. But you cant beat playing with your buddies so that could be the reason for joining back im guessing.
thanks Inish, no not with any club just go to alot of games, all leagues any place, any timejust on yer latest topic with this player Hala' AKA "red boots" i went to a few of Gratten games after seeing Littlemans post earlier in the year sayin he had unearthed a gem!! from wat ive seen and i shoot from the hip always as i tell it like i c! i dont think littleman will be too bothered loosin him?? maybe he was used to bein a big fish in a small pond for so long with Bhohs didnt suit him bein with Gratten with some of the serious players they have, i could be wrong here lads dont know the bloke but would be interesting to here from Littleman, i dont want to offend anyone here lads as i aint gifted with a ball myself but theres a serious difference between Premier and D1A skill, fitness, attitude (knocking on fellas doors Sun mourning) so Mario i wouldnt be too cocky and getting carried away!! opinions welcome
Greetings boys and girls from all of us at Blarney St... we have decided to end our self imposed exile from Foot.ie so am looking forward to getting back on board for the second half of the season and giving our twopence worth.....
by the way its great to see all the new people on this there is some amount of clubs represented now...
the first half of our season wasnt the best so we are really looking forward to 2010 to see what it might bring.... our last two games in december were big games which we won thank god... had we lost we would be rock bottom of the prem and out of the AOH but as it turned out by winning one league match(6-2) away to knockavilla we have gone from bottom in to 5th and by beating pearse celtic at home in extra time we re still in the aoh so plenty to play for..... talks of a couple of players coming in as well but dont want to say anything just yet till they are definite... the prem league is shaping up to be very keenly contested again with all the usual suspects up there chasing... only seen a handful of teams play this year but i have to say was very impressed with Leeside who i saw play against us couple of weeks back... they were awesome on the day had everything and this small guy up front i think barret is his name is a huge addition for them... frightening pace and knows how to use it.... Saying that we were all out of sorts the same day..no manager and no training done that week but still take nothing from them... like i said was impressed all round
lot of teams grabbing the headlines in the 1st nd 2nd divisions particularly bohs and glenvale which is great for the northside...to be fair both have players that could cut it in higher leagues and if the manage to keep there feet on the ground second half of the season they should be ok i think..in response to your question Ghost i have only seen this guy hala play once and he looked a decent player but i think any player that leaves any team now is a loss unless you have someone to replace him...especially if he was a starter... not sure if this fella started every game...
anyways lads best of luck to all in 2010 and looking forward to being back on board... also best of luck to niall o regan and cork aul team for rest of oscar traynor
Welcome Ghost. A norrie i pressume ??. Back to training last night and have to say i suffered badly. Didnt do too much but the weight of all those selection boxes and turkey took its toll !!!!!!!!Nice to get back although id say that will be it for the week. Cant see the game going ahead. all pitches will suffer id say. Welcome back (blarney) street, yea i see ye have pulled it around a bit after a tough few weeks. a long way to go yet. Id say yer on a bit of a mission after last years AOH final........that was a bitter pill to swallow for ye.
Though i posted something earlier but it seems to be gone ??? The ghost - the reason Premier/Premier A matches are on a saturday afternoon is so that we dont have to get fellas out of bed !!!!! We'll see what happens the owl - to be honest it was touch and go last week - the ref spent a good time trying to decide - so if we can play it we will!!!
I know chico. id say wer just hangin for a game at this stage. Put down yer heat mats on the pitch !!!
well the ghost - i have been managing teams for about 6/7 years now and i for one NEVER want to play Sunday morning matches again so I wouldnt blame players for not wanting to either!! Its junior soccer the ghost - fellas have lives - staying in almost every Saturday night isnt practical and even catches out the most dedicated of players on occasions
Ghost your comments are out of order and terribly offensive being honest, tonight and most other nights this season we have had between 14-18 players training every night there was training. For you to question our attitude skill and commitment is a disgrace and very offensive. You say there is a huge difference between Prem-Prem a and 1a. only 4 weeks ago we went down to park a prem team and we were missing 4 first team players and we knocked them out of the cup. And another thing referring to our team as a "small pond" is absolute nonsense. Between the league, St michaels cup, AOH cup, city challenge cup and Munster junior we have lost only one game not bad for a "small pond" team now is it??? If my facts are correct grattan are gone from the AOH, and Munster junior are they not?? Now i have nothing against grattan or any other team in the higher divisions jus trying to prove this chap wrong. ghost there is players in our team and prob every other team in all leagues who would get into most prem league teams and there is prem players who wouldnt get into the so called "lower teams". Proably every team in the AUL were out in that bitter cold tonight training and you have the cheek to question our attitude and commitment just because we arent in the top 2 divisions.
Am i alone here or is anyone else offended by his comments???
I think you should be ashamed of yourself if im honest
Your spot on mario, there are savage players playing in every league, just because there not playing in a premier team doesn't mean a thing. Some players are just loyal to their club, prefer playing with their buddys etc.
Look I tried to avoid getting drawn into this but none the less it seems Il have to . An to just make this nice an clear as usual I will post what I know for 100% because I spoke directly to the people concerened.
Mario, Halla is staying with Grattan.
Ghost, you have watched us at home, your words.......so forgive me if im a little puzzled about your view on Halla. We played 4 games at home all season an in 3 of them he was excellent, top class. The other we were all poor.
Cans has gone back to Marys,so Id like oppertuinity to say best of luck and thanks for everything.
Streetscene has pointed out its only a loss if you dont have something better to replace it,an if things work out over the next few days then I think I will have done that in spades, but Il keep it under me hat for now.
Their's only one Dinny Pop's.
