On their site the AUL are asking for entries for team of the month, who would get your vote.

Here are some of the contenders.

Grattan Utd : maximum points in Premier League & into the 2nd round of the FAI. (Played 4 won 4)
Kanturk : maximum points in Premier "A (Played 4 won 4)
Douglas Hall : maximum points in League 1 (Played 4 won 4)
Grangevale : maximum points in League 1 & into the 3rd round of the FAI (Played 4 won 4)
Bohemians : maximum points in League 1A (Played 3 won 3)
Glenvale : maximum points in League 2 & into the 3rd round of the FAI (Played 4 won 4)
Churchvilla : maximum points in League 2B (Played 3 won 3)

tough call on who to give it to because every team listed has beaten teams of an equal league level obviously in there respected divisions, where teams have progressed in cup competitions well i suppose it will depend on the level of the team they were playing, ;ie premeir v 2nd etc etc!! also i wonder how many of the listed teams will even bother sending in there nominations. finally i reckon it should be 1 of either grattan, glenvale or grangevale seeing as they came through the fai cup matches. thats my tuppence!!

    Stuff

Doug, Jason was with us last year too. Good player - nice guy too.

He is actually carrying injuries since the season began, his ankle & his ribs. (Can you hear Littleman groan???)

On the team of the month, dont forget to apply lads!!

You can make a call for all of them......I take the point about the higher teams in the league, but, the award is more for all leagues so I wont add extra weight to the league wins. 100% is 100%. Add cup exploits and as far as I know, we have 2 teams who beat higher opposition (hard for Prem teams, i know) - leaves me with Grangevale & Glenvale. The nod goes to Glenvale who beat a team two divisions up. Its only a bit of fun, so dont get upset.

On the subect of little polls, hows about we pick our own teams of the season as we go along - whoever you play, come back with 2 names from the opposition (per club of course), and 1 of your own. And we see who ends up with what votes at the end. We just kepp adding to the same list using the quote function?

If we are interested, lets begin by finding out who we have from what division. See next messsage - handy list to have anyway.

Arite Doug, sorry for the delay man i was missing for a couple of days.

I see you got sorted by radiostar. Here they are just in case.Radiostar is a dodgy customer, you could end up in mallow!!!!!!!!

    Simple enough anyhow.
Pass the fox and hounds on your right in Ballyvolane, carry on for about 3km and turn right at Stirrup bar crossroads(Hennessys service station on the right also) and the pitch is 1.5km on your left hand side.

i'd love it b&r if we did it against Pearse. Club needs a lift after last weeks shambles against Ard Na Laoi.

By the way has anyone played at Ard na Laoi's pitch.Out by Anglers Rest. It was a disgrace.

So much for grass cut, pitches lined etc...which was outlined on the aul website and the echo.

The grass was 6-7 inches high(not messing)

Pitch wasn't lined and nets went up 2mins before kick off.

Not making an axcuse for our 1-0 defeat because we had chances but the ref didn't even care about the state of the pitch, just wanted to get on with it!

Thank goodness the rest of the teams in our division have a nice set up including ye Innish.

Thats crazy, cant believe they have yet to play.

What is the third team like? I hear the 1st and 2nd teams have panels of about 20 each.

Not many clubs can support a player pool of 50-60 players

Last i heard pacman they had about a squad of about 18. They should do well this year they have some very good players if they can stay interested of course. At one stage pre-season i heard they had around 30 players and they were gonna tell some players there was no place for them.

Our A team and B team both have registered around 20 players aswell. But as everyone knows people's interest can fade fairly fast if they are not playing so hopefully we wont be affected too much.

What kind of number's do ye get pacman?

I normally find, while a lot of teams might sign 19 or 20 players it is very hard to keep more than 16 happy. Some players will hang around even if they are on the bench once they get some playing time but i dont think anyone will stay if they are just standing on the line every week.

Carrigaline 2 Glen Celtic 2. Glen won 6-5 on pens.

A tough win on the magnificent astra turf pitch. It was a lot faster than what we were used to so we were happy to come away with the win. I just have to mention the performance of the referee. Whether i get in trouble over this or not i just have to say that the sooner we get some young lads reffing on these pitches the better. I read a post on this site recently regarding this same fella. Did most of the game from the centre circle and the amount of bad decisions he made, giving goal kicks instead of corners, letting play go on when there was a foul and gave a penalty that stunned both sides which he then would not tell us what it was for. How we are expected to respect the Man in the middle when we have to pay for this kind of service.

Blackstone 1 - 0 Greenmount - a good win for us today - went one up after 11 minutes and were playing well - on 40 mins our keeper got sent off for pointing his finger with intent at a Greemount midfielder who threw him self on the ground like he had been shot from the grassy knoll - the less i say about this the better - said player actually apologised to our team and asked the referee to put in his report that he made a meal of it
