    City Vs Bandon

left with about ten minutes to go

score was 2-2 at the time
doyler and fenn put city into a 2-0 haf time lead with georgie also missing a penalty in first half

new sigings very impressive(fenn, sof, sweeney and coloured fella at centre half)

particularly impressed with stephen o flynn

11 changes at half time and does not look like are back-up players are very strong

willie byrnes and david warren best out of a bad lot

Ketchup(?) Bertaund is the coloured guy. He is french, a centre half. Hope he is only on trial, because on todays showing, he was shocking altogether.

S O Flynn looked good on the left wing, Sweeney defo looked strong and has a good mouth on him.

Second half, eleven subs, and only Benno, Fraher and McCarthy looked anyway decent. Willie Byrne was ok (have we signed him), Greg had a shocker at left back.

Its hard to criticise really as the game was being played on a heavy surface with long ish grass, not conducive to any style of football.

If Pat is looking for a new keeper, he could do worse than Bandons keeper. Made some very saves and had a good command of his area.
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.

Sweeny was excellent, 1st time I've seen him play, but was the best player on the field. I thought Kiki (the coloured guy) played very well, S O'Flynn only OK.
Fenn, Doyler very impressive, everyone else solid enough. TBH, only for the Bandon keeper, Doyler should have had 4 or 5. We also need to sort out a penalty taker.
We DEFINITELY DO NOT need Willie Byrne (Bandon/MSL seems about his level).

Lads, WHAT IS THE STORY WITH JOHN O'FLYNN ?
I'm getting seriously worried now. He hasn't played a game in 6 months and is only standing on the line watching.
No warm ups, no run outs, no sign of any attempt to get involved in a game.
    Whats going on?
With 5 weeks to go, he should be playing at least 50 - 60 minutes of games like these.

    Second Half Team

    Nults
Lordan K Murray W Byrne(I thought it was Burke) Greg
    Mucka Benno Softic Warren
    Frahr McCarthy

Apart from two headers off the crossbar by Willie, not much else.
Greg was poor - but IMO only because he wsa forced to play Leftback. Warren tried hard, but got nothing for it. Does that mean he's not good enough?

I thought Kiki was handy enough - but how many centre backs do we need -
Dan, Derek, Benno, Kevin M, Shane G, Darren M, Willie.....

Hoggie played very well, excellent on the ball. Could be a midfielder...hmmmm

Doyle's finishing is poor relative to our other strikers and I expect RM will be his position, where he is outstanding
Fenn and Sweeney looked good, the latter showing glimpses of Rennie on occasion.

Carey, Kearney were on the sidelines.
Still no sign of Derek, Nwanko, Lally.
Behan and Nolan were also missing.
Please tell me Nwanko will be back!

    Todays game...

I thought Neale Fenn was very good today. His hold up play and his touch was fantastic. He is going to be a great signing and would walk into any team in this league from what i have seen in the few times i saw him play...

Brendan Sweeney looked good in the centre and i think with more games under is belt in the Premier division could be another good signing. Is he what we were looking for?I think maybe yes..

The coloured guy(french someone mentioned)did ok.

Doyler was very good as ever..

S O 'Flynn played well but i am still unsure about where he will fit into the team.Might not start..

Remember its only about getting fit at this stage of the year.I am sure some of the lads are rusty after there break.

Oh and also..a player who i think should definetly be pushing this year for a first team spot is Mulconroy who played well 2nd half.He is a good player...

Bertrand Kertchanke (Kiki). All I can find on the net is that he was at Rennes, and had a trial at Dunfermline a while back.
A man can have no greater love than give 90 minutes for his friends.

Yeah and that's what he's being saying for the past few months so he must be fairly confident of it. I'd say Pat's not risking him in any of these games as he doesn't want to risk aggrevating the injury. Flynny will probably be eased back into the swing of things over during the first few league games.

Flynny, IMO, will be back and fine for the start of the new season. It wouldn't suprise me though if he does play a small part in the friendlies.

Has anyone seen him recently, ask how he is?

Not much need to risk John O'Flynn in friendlies this early as its not as if Dolan doesn't know what he capable of. If he not playing a couple of weeks before the start of the season then i'll start worrying.
