Decision Day - Will the Government Bury Stadium

Today is decision day and a bit worrying - according to Page 3 of today's Times "sources clsoe to the government" - translation their spin doctors have said that it is too early to make a decision re concerns on Lansdowne Road planning.

Ifd this is true then our worst fears will be realised and the government will bury a decision for months and years - probably until the next government.

No matter what way they spin it this will be a disgrace...

Hopefully these reports are not true and the cabinet will decide this affternoon to go ahead with a national stadium in either Abbottstown or Lansdowne.

Yep its looking like the *******s are going to duck out of making a decision yet again. This is absolutely incredible, Tumbledown Road will actually need to collapse before they do anything about it and even then I'd have my doubts.

Apparently they're worried about residents objections among other things and its "too early" to make a decision. Since those idiots are going to object no matter what, I think they're more concerned about not upsetting a few moneybags in the area who contribute funds to FF or the PDs. If these reports are true, thats no stadium for another 10 years at least (if ever).

By the way, does anyone want to join my new militia group dedicated to beating up all kinds of politicians who continually fail to do anything of any value? Slim Harney ("No stadium until I get my cakes"), Kapitan McDowell ("Why make any decisions when I can talk about points of law all day long") and of course Bertie Ahern ("But why can't I wear a Man Yoo strip to the Council of Ministers meeting") are top of the hit-list at the moment.

Exactly - a decision either way is needed. If it is to Abbottstown, I hope the IRFU sell Lansdowne to a developer who builds fúck off apartment/ office blocks on the site.....

Come to think of it, the odds on "Government fudges it" were pretty good. I think I should have had a punt. A bit late now.

This won't be announced until this evening, right?

Yes thought about a bet too and didn't. Decision was odds on and a fudge was 10/1.

No decision yet but planted stories in Times and on the radio were a sounding board. reckon it was scuppered again.

It never had PD support for any option and Bertie is a coward.

I hope the IRFU and the F.A.I. have the balls to murder them if they fudge the issue.
