    Gareth Cambridge

    Hi lads.

I was just wondering it said (apparently) in the Evening Echo some day during the week that we (Waterford United) are linked with former Cobh and Cork City midfielder Gareth Cambridge. What's he like lads ?
And on a side note, is he any relation to our coach Martin Cambridge ?

    Cheers lads

Gareth Cambridge is a winger/centre forward, heard he had a disagreement with henderson while at cobh ramblers,he then left for cork city where he won a setanta cup medal,he was then released when alan mattews was sacked,he signed for st mary,s in the munster senior league and now as far as i know is going to link back up with henderson at waterford.

by the way he is no relation to martin cambridge

Try the Cork City forum at www.ccfcforum.com

There is a rumour but nothing confirmed by either City or Waterford. Anyway, he's not a Ramblers player anymore. and Im told there's no truth in it.

You should really believe xtreme rebel on the ccfc forum as he is Gareth's best friend.

I heard first that it was a player called Darren Cambridge who Waterford were signing, who apparently plays for Limerick, then somebody told me it was a mis-print and that it was Gareth.

That I'm aware of R14. I misread the original post on the City forum and thought it stated that he'd signed, which wasn't and still isn't the case. Waterford have only signed Dave Warren recently and I don'tknow if it's true or not that he may be signing for Waterford. Taking into consideration the events at Ramblers then I'm surprised that this may happen but I suppose everyone has grown up since the Ramblers days.

Beats me too. I generally don't like to speculate as things tend to grow legs but might it have been the only option available to him?.
