France, Hungary and Japan in our group. Sounds reasonably tough but I don't know what countries are usually strong in this competition.
The World Student Games, Belgrade 2009. The biennial football tournament starts June 30th and lasts until July 10th.

The squad was announced recently
http://www.thirdlevelfootball.ie/cfa...mes-announced/
Billy Brennan, John Dinnen, Pete McMahon and Graham Rusk all made the squad. The squad includes Dundalk's goalie Ryan Coulter, Ciaran Boyd of Cliftonville, Oisin McMenamin (Finn Harps) and Mark Surgenor (Ballymoney utd.) who has already played for the North's Regions Cup team in March. They just missed out on progression to this month's group stage.
Ireland are sending a Mens and Womens side. The women finished fourth two years ago in Bangkok, while the men finished 13th. All the games will be played in and around Belgrade, one dissapointment is that there are no double-headers bar the Final day when the Women's and Men's Final take place in FC Partizan's Stadium in Topcider.

We're not arrogant, we're just better.
That's the women!
We have Italy, Uruguay and Korea.
You have your priorities right.
I used to feel countries with National Service and a large student population was the optimum formula to produce a mature squad. At least an older average age gaining one advantage. DRK (North Korea) seemed to have the best of both conditions.

Ireland lose 1-0 to Uruguay in game 1. Billy, Graham Rusk and (former Student) John Dineen all played.
Dineen's gone? I thought he was highly rated.
Edit: Nevermind, saw the other thread.
