Why bother is exactly the question I am asking myself? Look at our lot-ATFC-and now you guys struggling year after year....... where is the satisfaction in this very slow and I think terminal illness. What do the clubs, fans and players actually gain.

I spoke to a player on Monday night, he was getting £150 with a mid table Div 1 side in 1997 -1999, the same team is now only able to pay 80 euro week and as a result all they are getting are players who join from a good youths team or a young junior club who think great, I'm gtting 80 quid + me job seekers and I'm a professional. That lasts for about two seasons, the player gets fed up with it and steps aside for the next 19 year old with stars in their eyes. Vicious circle. Waterford to Finn Park doesn't look too attractive so he ****es off after a year. We can all produce similar examples of this. Regionalise the tier below the 14 premier call it what ever you like, promote it locally, offer incentives (ie a Place in Setanta Cup ok bad example) tie in with the Irish league Div 1 or something. But defo scrap what we have.

Look I feel sorry for you because there is obviously a hard core who should be commended for getting Limerick back up, and indeed credit to the ATFC trust and others groups who have helped their club's board out, but it's like ground hog day!

    Plain & simple Damo

Why not just bother about ATFC & let the good people of Limerick FC bother about LFC.

Fr.Damo answer me this ,why does anybody support their local team,if we all took your attitude people would only follow the best teams in any sport. Why do so many people follow Limerick GAA when we all know they'll never win an All Ireland (in either code) this side of the next 100 years! we follow teams cause maybe, just maybe one year we will win something.
When the Heiniken cup started Munster were a joke team and i saw them play in a run down Thomand Park in front of a few hundred people against a French side in the first season of that competition.I bet then that the powers that be would never have dreamed of what has occured but it did and more power to all those that rolled in behind it.Now i'm not saying Limerick FC can do anything similar but we can all hope and dream and with a little luck we might get something better than what we have and be proud of our club.
You cant be a cynic all your life.

Where else could I go to a game with a bag of cans and a fattyboombatty in my pocket and not have everyone around me reel away in disgust?

    Huh!

You will be saddened to hear that the boro bridge boys are no more...most have moved on to "BETTER" things.. Alas the actual bridge has also gone the way of the do-do...

    Thumbs up LFC Financial Appeal

Especially for all the keyboard warriors out there, you can now contribute to the Limerick FC financial appeal online (via PayPal). That includes Leo's Lottery, the Patron Schemes or simple donations.

I often think half the reason people continue with the club is because of the large amount of a$$holes who live to see the day the club dies. Now that day may very well come in the near or distant future but as long as theres sad bitter little men doing everything they can to undermine the club there will be people who will break there ****** to make sure the club survives another day.
