    Hi there,

loads of teams in dublin. are you looking for a particular area in dublin? what level would you like?

i think the best thing to do is to go to www.a2zsoccer.com and go to the "dublin womens soccer league" section. all the senior teams are listed there from premier and inter leagues. underage seem to be playing during the year now so they aren't all listed but if you are looking for a particular schoolgirls team (guessing by your username!) then ask here and some-one will have contact details. likewise with the senior teams.

    Hi Nemi7,

Thanks for that. I had already visited A2Z but couldn't find a list. There was a link to a dead site but I'll look again. Thanks again.

    Regards

You could try and phone the Dublin Womens' Soccer League on 01 6270715 and they will give you all the contact numbers that you will need.

As a Coach with Terenure Falcons (DWSL - Div 2 South).. We had a terrible start to the season in terms of results and it was the 2nd round of fixtures where we won 5 from our last 6. We also played a Friendly against a USA College Side that contained some USA Emerging Talent Players in August, it was a great experience for the girls.
In terms of Players, training, attitude and application, we had a fantastic group of girls approx 20 Players. Always had a squad of at least 14 per game. The team trained every Thursday with good numbers.
We picked up a lot of players through our website and continue to do so...

The Club (Terenure Football Club) is now entering the NDSL Winter League at Senior and Schoolgirls. If there any Players reading this and interested in playing or coaching Schoolgirls then please get in touch through our website terenurefc.com

Hi JW. That's great news. Sounds like you had a fantastic Summer(forget about the early results) and that there is solid base for the girls game. Think that it's brilliant that the girls are playing through the winter too.....playing against a US team, college or otherwise is always good.

How did you find playing against them? What kind of problems did you come up against? How did the girls find playing against them?

    KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK........

Im out in balbriggan area, were trying to rebuild our senior womens team and are also entering the winter league - either ndsl or dwsl.

if you are - or know anyone who is - in, the balbriggan, balrothery, lusk, skerries, gormanston or stamullen areas, can you please refer them to our site www.rcwfc.ie or better yet, pm me for more details. Squad is down to 14 at the minute so we want to up it to about 20+.

Hope you can help and will pass this on for me.

don't want to sway you either way and I don't work for the NDSL......however

Heard great things about the NDSL Leagues last year.
1 senior team withdrew from league
Very few games not played due to no-shows
    League finished on time
Cup was played to schedule with final played at NDSL centre and did not cross-over into the Summer season.

I notice that the DWSL Winter League from last year has not completed as yet......

    Summer DWSL Premier
    1 team withdrew
1 team gave 8 walkovers(I believe this is correct)
    Season is still running
League Cup has no final venue as yet
League Cup last Summer was played on Dec 21st(If I remember..Stella and Raheny had to travel to Peamount to play the game....2 northside teams playing in Newcastle.....ridiculous in my opinion)...!

Better org in NDSL it seems......

Anyone play in the NDSL last season? How was it?

Did I get a false impression?

We played http://www.centre.edu/web/athletics/soccer_w/index.html Centre College Danville, Kentucky. I dont think they have lost a game in two Years.
We normally play on a small pitch, minimum width and condense the play, but we played the College Team on our 1st Senior Team Pitch which is twice as wide and after 20mins we finally went a goal down after we should have taken the lead. They had superior fitness to any womens team I've seen in Ireland. After the 20mins we were chasing shadows for the next 70mins. Their play was 100% on the ground, get the ball to the full backs, keeping it wide and if not it went through a fab centre mid. They exploited our weaker players. In fairness they only started to get behind us in the 2nd half. They train a few times a week and their technique and positional play was a joy to watch. Keep an eye out in the future for Erin Menard, a seriously good player, USA Youth Team. http://www.centre.edu/web/news/2008/menard.html

Having returned from the NDSL Meeting tonight. Its a properly run League with an excellent vision for the development of the Female Game.
This was my first ever dealing with the NDSL and I was hugely impressed with the pro-activeness and organisation of the committee. (I dont say that lightly). Makes a change to see a good committee.
Comparing the NDSL with the DWSL is a non runner.. In my opinion.
They are light years ahead.. The DWSL needs to seriously get itself in line as the NDSL is setting the standards.

Looking through the notes I took.
    NDSL: Underage 10, 12, 14 and Senior.
    Academy for under 10's
A Regional Centre for the FAI (Emerging Talent)
Have their own Womens Development Officer
Representative Squads to play against Senior Ireland Team when they preparing for comps.
Looking to get Players onto all of the Underage international squads through their own Representative squads.
League Rules & procedures that are adhered to.
Ambition to get a NDSL Club into the proposed FAI National League (2-3 Years away).

As a Southside Club, we are really looking forward to entering teams in each section of the NDSL Girls. Its the only League to be entering this Winter.

That team played in the Carrickfergus tournament the previous week and were beaten 5-1 in the semi final by the Irish Combined Colleges team.

The Combined colleges team did include a number of Senior and Underage Internationals:

    Bronagh Sheridan (DCU)
    Emer Flatley (UL)
    Grace Murray (Dundalk IT)
    Hannah Tyrell (Trinity)
    Lorna O' Connell (UL)
    Lynn Marie Grant (WIT)
    Patricia Coyle (IT Sligo)
    Ruth Fahey (UL)
    Zoe Doherty (DCU)
    Aine Burke (Trinity)
    Linda Douglas (UCC)
    Amanda Parkes (CCFE)
    Eimear Knightly (UCC)
    Valerie Leahy (CIT)
    Patrice Kearney (UCD)
    Catriona Dolan (AIT)
    Katheleen O' Brien (CCFE)
