As far as I know, Hodge isn't actually cap-tied to us though, since none of his appearances for the FA were competitive, so he could still avail of the option to switch.

Ah no he isn't tied to us at all your right. I was just saying he choose us this season even though he was first choice this season for England as well so this idea that duals only pickings when they cant get an England game isn't correct in Hodges instance

Another one with more of an Irish sounding name. 18 year old Ronan Darcy likely to get lots of game time for Bolton this year considering their average age in their first two games was 19.

Update on Johansson. Surely FIFA have no basis to reject. We will see.

Interesting. I'd incorrectly assumed that the whole story had arisen from Johansson having already lodged his request to switch to the FAI with FIFA and had it rejected.

That says mick will have an update tomorrow. I really hope they are not rolling mick out to say how Irish johanson is and how he had a great chat with his mother etc to put pressure on fifa just cringeworthy stuff. Just try and get it sorted out behind the scenes at fifa and government level and leave mick just announce his squad(please pick crowley to at least make the Bulgaria friendly worth the trip

What's significant is he has now applied for a change of assoiciation if FIFA pass it there is no going back. He is ours for life

Josh McPake for the Under 21 squad? That would make him popular at Ibrox. Wonder if it's just his agent trying to get him a Scotland call up.

FAI reaches out as Maddison considers switch: https://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...-38431909.html
It is now understood that FAI officials have been made aware that a switch could be possible should he be overlooked for next month's Euro 2020 qualifying games with Bulgaria and Kosovo.
it's "understood" a switch "could be possible". Sounds like his agent is angling for a call up more than anything else.

It is slightly depressing how we are used as leverage these days rather than players genuinely wanting to play for us.

Shocking exactly nobody, Southgate has called Maddison into the England squad for their two games in September.

I'm sure he'll turn down the call while he works through the anguish of this dilemma.

Oko flex hasn't been included in the Brits under 18 or under 19 squads.

2 lads who missed the 17s euros because they were ineligible are included but they are still based in england(and in school in England I guess) so maybe they are now eligible.

You would think if okoflex was going to be England eligible they would want him in the 18s squad just to keep him on board(cynical Brits!)
