They really should have made their interest known before, especially considering Kwame's a former underage international.

It's interesting to note that Kwame's upbringing and background is very similar in some ways to that of Paul McGrath. Born in England to an Irish mother and an African father before moving back to Ireland and playing all the way up along here before moving back across to the UK to pursue a professional football career.

I'd imagine that Ethan has spent minimal time in Wales. His father left Swansea in 1998 but Ethan was born in 1999 but his father played with Exeter from 2000-2005, worked there and Ethan is on the books there so I'd imagine that they'd have moved closer to there some time during that period. I'm assuming he qualified for England on the residency/education rule (forgive my ignorance on that rule) or else his mother's background.

It's a very interesting choice he's got in front of him. He's also elgible for Ghana through his grandfather, not to mention what his mother's background may offer in this regard. Let's hope his father's Irishness carries sufficient weight for the lad.

Ignorance of any eligibility rule simply can not be forgiven.

Most likely. The four British associations replaced the two-year residency requirement of article 6.1(d) with a criterion of their own (that being five years of education before the age of 18) by way of internal agreement, as is expressly permitted by FIFA in the Regulations.

Ethan would be eligible through his father anyway. Kwame was born in England himself.

Ahhh. That point completely slipped my mind. What an array of options this web presents the young lad with.

Ha, it escaped me too for a sec. It's easy to overlook the obvious when you're looking into the

Looks like we'll be finally removing Harry Kane from our list of potentials soon: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31449204

That would be amazing if he did.

How hard were we knocking on his door?

Probably should have sent Roy. He seems to have done a job on Tom Cleverley.

That piece suggests the FAI are actively scouting MLS with several scouts across North America. Good to hear, if true.

Callum Wilson of Bournemouth seems to be the next lad we're chasing. Martin O'Neill also talks about possibly 1 or 2 more maybe declaring before the Scotland match. Wonder who??

"Meanwhile, the hunt continues for more fresh blood, with Arter’s club mate and prolific striker Callum Wilson entering the frame. O’Neill confirmed: “He’s played U21 for England but that doesn’t make him ineligible. We’re in the process of checking out (his eligibility). I think he’s a very good player. I don’t want to sound like a detective here but I’m following up on a number of other leads. I think there’s one or two might come to fruition in the next couple of months, maybe even before the Scotland game, that might be pleasantly surprising."

I'd hazard a guess that Wilson came under the radar thanks to Cyrus Christie. He's a 22 year-old born in Coventry who played for Coventry all his career before moving to the Championship- same as Christie. Likely to be friendly, surely.
