"It's time for the FAI to grow up." John O'Donoghue, Minister for Sport, RTE , Sunday 7 Nov 2004
Eoin Martin was the Mervue keeper last night.
What an awful, awful game at the cross.
Neither team worked the goalkeepers and 0-0 was fair but painful to watch.
How a team as poor as us or 2 points of the top is beyond me tbh, we've absolutely nothing up front.
Rovers players celebrated as if they'd won, which I found odd... Great crowd of Rovers down, very loud in parts too but the pain of watching the game made for a poor atmosphere.
3133 attendance. You can halve that again for next week after tonight.
i have calmed down slighty since last night but still think the ref performance was terrible. Gave a pen to Wexford then changed mind after Fingal players persuaded ref to talk to lino and change the decision to a free kick. Missed at least 1 other other handball in the box and several free's throughout the game for both teams at times but mainly for Wexford (not just saying that) know ref's in stand and normally stand up for other ref at games and even then amazed. He was terrible Mr. G. Kelly was. Anybody know are ref accessor report are made public as would love to see what was said last night
Saying that can't blame ref fully for result. Wexford did not play anywhere near as well as last week v Waterford and Pasty was somewhat silly in getting sent off. Fingal was not great either created space in midfield but not that many chances. Did however show there experience but hitting the ground whenever possible for a few mins even before went in front some of the play acting was terrible promoting a funny chant from Wexford fans about Fingal number 2 "Are you Drogba in disguise" for amount of times he went down.
Overall a draw would have been far result but that is football
