Wexford next game at home v Limerick on Sunday at 2pm
Threw me a bit of a swerve with the Friday kick-off, but a (fairly Blue-centric) report of the Cork game is now here.

was an ok game for large periods cancelled each other out a lot of the time and looked like both teams playing for a draw.
From what other said it was a peno a couple of Limerick people who made the trip agreed with that one I was other end of pitch so could not say for sure but ref blew straight away. On the offside call I am not sure to be honest not in line with it but a very tight call. Limerick became very undisciplined after offside decision. Limerick goal keeper did not do himself any favours though at end of game approached the officials and was not very pleasant.
the ref was female and was one lines person was also female I have not seen the ref before or the other lineperson but had seen the lineswomen she had good games in the past.
I know the lineswomen is from Wexford but not sure about ref. Lineswomen I think is off to euro under 19 ladies tournament shortly. In your response please bear in mind before say anything about officials from same place but this tends to happen at under20 level and I do not agree with it either.
I am guessing you heard female ref and official and that why you asked.

no ur cool had it confirmed that it was indeed a peno as our player went tru a youths player to get to the ball. on the officials im all for local refs doing these games as it cuts costs but in my 20 years of going to EL games ive yet to see a good if even an adaquate job done by female officials. we in limerick know that once we are out of any running at el level that experimental/first time officials are used for all our games. i think if you asked any officail where he or she first had a game and Limerick would be the answer. three to go if we win two we should be ok.
i understand your view you watching the league longer than me but ref yesterday was ok have seen a lot worse at LOI level and at under 20 games as for first time ref i know the feeling but back on point after seeing most teams Limerick should finish second although I do think Waterford looked quiet strong when we played them in RSC.

Blues beat Cork 2-0 in Bishopstown today, scorers to follow.
Don't know if there were any other games on this weekend, but the table with that result is now:

The edit option goes fairly sharpish on here, sorry.
Anyway, scorers in the Cork-Blues game were Ben Ryan in the first half, Paul Carey with a penalty in the second.
(again fairly Blue-centric) Report on the game here.

Wexford Youths v Waterford United is on this Sunday (27th) at 2.00pm at Ferrycarrig.
Two good wins under Blues belts these last two games, but this'll be the real test of where they are. Gonna try my best to get to this one.

FC Carlow 0-2 Limerick FC
Wexford Youths 3-1 Waterford United
That means Wexford Youths have qualified for the quarter finals.
another win for Limerick and they should get tru. Today Limerick won 2 nil away dispite Carlow owning the ball in the second half. Own goal in the first half and a David McGrath cool finish in the final seconds won it for Limerick.
Wexford pretty much on top from the start Kevin Rowe got the first after a nice move Shane Dempseny with the second header from a corner. Waterford goal came next Lee Aust kicked the ball off Shane Dempseny leg and it went in came from a corner. Third goal came from good from Muzzy Mullen down the right and crossed to Tiernan Rossister who had a simple enough finish. Wexford played well think it shows with our under20 team that most have played together at u18 level as well and the majority of team have played some senior LOI over last few years. Hopefully can push on past the quarter finals.
How does draw for next round work??
And Miles To Go Before We Sleep
our section is usually the weakest. From our own side its due to junior clubs comming in and tapping up players in between the group and knock out sections. usually we get paired off with he western group, so ye:ll be playing second in that group while the runner up in ours plays the winner.
