Suppose the key is getting him injury free.

It's a no brainer to me too. It'll be pay for play, or small basic plus appearance bonus's. No fee due, and you'd suspect he wouldn't be looking for a massive signing on fee to go to United compared to the no mark teams he was linked with. If it works, it'll be a masterstroke, if it doesn't then not much lost.

It's only the 3rd July ffs, a bit early to be suggesting it as a panic signing after other targets have been lost - time will tell, but it just looks like good business to me.

Does that man look terrified or what?

Not since Asprilla arrived to Newcastle in the snow has a mans eyes darted about like that ....Possibly seeking out his agent with the intent of snapping him like an old dry twig.

My thoughts pretty much too. A relatively modest investment from ManUs' perspective (on their terms I daresay) for a potentially sweet return.

    Chelsea sign Zhirkov.

Good signing. Wonder what that means for Cashley.

Man Utd also about to sign this guy apparantly.

Is that the guy who's name sounded like Jerk-off when George Hamilton was commentating at the Euros? Looked a really good player.

    That's him.

He plays left wing or left back.

BREAKING NEWS: Juventus Sign Felipe Melo - Report

The Bianconeri have signed the Brazilian for €20 million plus Marco Marchionni, according to Sky Sport Italia...

Juventus have signed Felipe Melo from Fiorentina for €20 million plus the full ownership of Marco Marchionni, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The deal has been done and official confirmation will arrive tomorrow. Felipe Melo has signed a contract worth €2.6m a year.

Juventus have been in the market for a top-class centre midfielder, and their primary target had been Udinese’s Gaetano D’Agostino. However, the failure to agree on a transfer fee had seen Juve look elsewhere for possible alternatives.

Over the last few days there had been widespread speculation over a move for Felipe Melo, who has also been tracked by Premier League side Arsenal.

On Saturday, Sky Sport Italia claimed that Felipe Melo’s agents had reached an accord with Juventus, and that Bianconeri officials were to meet their Fiorentina counterparts on Tuesday in order to arrange a transfer fee and close the deal.

This was followed by an official announcement on the Fiorentina website, which stated that the Viola had only received one firm offer from Arsenal, and that they were negotiating a cash-plus-player exchange with The Gunners, that player being Emmanuel Eboue.

The saga continued to play out, and only today Fiorentina transfer chief Pantaleo Corvino insisted that Juventus had still not made an offer, and that Arsenal were in pole position.

However, Sky Sport Italia, an extremely reliable source, claim that Felipe Melo is now a Juventus player.

The 25-year-old will become the third Brazilian member of the Juventus line-up, along with Diego and Amauri.

    Adebayor passes Man City medical.

I think this could be a really good signing for Man City. He was quality the season before last and is an all round striker.

Downing about to sign for Villa. Rumours going around that Young will be going to Man Utd but I'd say that's unlikely.

Manchester United have been following the situation very closely and they have told Villa`s representatives that, in the next day or so, they will make an offer that they feel will be well received by both Valencia and the player. In order to satisfy Valencia, that would mean United are prepared to offer the Spanish club around €45 million, plus a salary package in the region of €8 million a year to the player.

David Villa has always insisted that he would like to remain in Spain and that he does not want to move abroad, that is, until now. However, for the second consecutive season, the player has seen his dream to move to one of the two top Spanish teams end in frustration, and it is plausible that his increasing frustration at his current situation could prompt him to abandon Spain and drive him toward the Premier League and into the hands of Manchester United.

Villa`s representatives have been told that Sir Alex Ferguson`s comments that United have ended their summer spending is nothing more than an attempt to avoid becoming distracted by a summer of speculation and is a strategy for dealing with an increasingly volatile transfer market - and that if the United manager is presented with an opportunity to sign a player of David Villa`s calibre, then he has both the resources and the desire to do so.
Not surprised by that. Hopefully there will be a bid as he is the best striker in the world, although he probably won't outscore Torres in the Premier League.
