    A Name For The Future

Wicklow-born Paul McShane skippered Manchester United Youths to a convincing 2-0 victory in the FA Youth Cup last night. Centre-half McShane was the outstanding player on show and seems to have all the potential to make it to the top level. He already has one FA Youth Cup winners' medal from last season and will really fancy his chances of leading United to back-to-back successes.

City included three Irishmen - Irish U19 International striker Karl Bermingham who picked up a late injury, Stephen Ireland and Phil Reilly who came on as a second-half sub.
    Effenberg played like my grandmother!

He's played and scored in the reserves a few times this season too, there was a write up about him in the indo a few weeks back. Ferguson compared him to Keane in his work rate and attitude towards training, supposed to be more of a leader than O'Shea ever was at the same level. Might come on as a sub towards the end of the season if the title is wrapped up.

A mate from Greystones claimed that he had anything up to 10 scouts watching him while he was still playing in Wicklow. They were all dead keen on him but apparently the intervention of a certain Monsieur Keane sealed his decision to sign for Utd.
Maybe you should put her on a leash, agent-man.

If this guy is half as good as they say he is, we'll have one hell of defence in a few years, with Finnan, Carr and O'Shea already there, could be as good a defence as any in the world in my opinion.

Think I saw him in the Milk Cup - tall lad with ginger hair?
If it's the same guy, he's got the makings of a fine player, imho.

What age is he? Anyone under 20 is in the youth squad for the CL.
Just glanced at the interview - he's U17!!
