    We'll soon see!!

    try this one - -

Well I see your yellow fingers and your crucifix bones
    All covered in cellophane
Was there when yer best friend said “sweetheart”
I’m just here to get drunk again
    I wouldn’t move if I was you
I wouldn’t want to get caught when the lights go out
She said “you think you’re so special” I said
“Sunshine I’m just bored I’m just checking out”

Ha ha easy one. Remember road trips screaming this song in the car?

Fratellis - Creepin up the back stairs

    now give this a go:

    "You can buy crisps
    I can buy jam
    you push the trolley
    I'll push the pram"

Half right. It is Sigur Rós but it's Staralfur.

Well it is Wikipedia, and the singer doesn't say anything of the sort on their website despite what that entry says, but it could well be.
    Terrible song anyway.

The crisps and jam is the Sultans of Ping I think, but I can't remember the name of the song.

    Very obscure this one:

"People are standing at the back of the church now,
Tonight's the night, yeah, tonight's the night"

    The Fall?
That's the superb Let's Go Shopping by Sultans of Ping.

    Soldier boy
    made of clay
    now an empty shell
    twenty-one, only son
    but he served us well
bred to kill, not to care
    do just as we say
    finished here, greetings death
    he's yours to take away
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"

This should be an easy one (cleary I set the bar too high on my first couple )

She gave herself a flirt, gave herself a little cuddle
But there's no place here for the mini skirt waddle
Capital punishment she's last years model
They call her Natasha when she looks like Elsie
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Ah, cracking tune, I Don't Want To Go To Chelsea!

Right, I'll go with a bit more of an earlier one since I've just got hold of the song (found out it had been re-issued only recently, can't believe it, have a grin like a Cheshire cat all week! )

"People are walking, people are talking, smoking, jay-like, cigarettes
Beer stains on stout men, hypocrites arrrive again

    People pawing, Women warning
Day is dawning, [name of song!]

People are standing at the back of the church now, tonight's the night yeah, tonight's the night
Small town heroes, their thoughts are nowhere, out of sight yeah, out of sight"

Anyone remember it? You'd have to be well on towards 30somghrtrtgfgfgddfsd I'd say.

Stann's song is impossible! I lashed it into Google in sheer desperation and still got nothing!!

I've got one (easier) of my own...

"She wears denim wherever she goes
Says she gonna buy some records by status quo"

    Hahaha, it's google-proof!

Brilliant, brilliant song, one that's only been in my head for years and years since my record player went tits up, then in desperation I googled it a while back and found out that it had been reissued a couple of years ago, grabbed one forthwith!
Think Galway, think 1980-ish, and I've already said too much...

Bit of a guess here but is it a Toasted Heretic song?
