#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

Ah Celdrog, is this where you share your wisdom with the masses these days...

Very few DFC fans agreed with the decision, mostly because it is very difficult for an employer to win an unfair dismissal case and this one was always going to be very difficult to win.

Nonetheless some of our squad were clearly acting the maggot off the pitch at the time and performances on the pitch were unacceptable. The programme notes for that night stated 'We all have a duty to protect the League and it is important that we ensure high standards of discipline on the pitch.'

The case has gone against us but the turnaround in our fortunes since the club laid down the law has been stark. From that point of view we'll live.

But if Shelbyville want to give us back our Malone Cup share to help us through our predicament I'm sure it would be welcomed.

Speaking of 15,000, that's what Dundalk will have to pay Rogers but in Euro not posts

While the board of Dundalk FC acted hastily, he showed no respect for the club or fans. It's a nightmare for our finances but il make sure to buy a few tickets for this Atletico game.

Most agreed, a few disagreed, presumably those who agreed will now accept GM was wrong (which I accept he rarely is)
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

I would like to wish my former team-mates and the fans of the Dundalk all the best for the future. I really enjoyed my all too short stay at the club and I am very disappointed that the club sought to end it in such an unsatisfactory manner

it's beats the Dundalk party line that you trot out on every issue.

You either lack an independent mind, or are on the Board.

On the Rogers issue it was patently obvious Dundalk didn't follow standard HR procedures, they hadn't a leg to stand on. No wonder they are happy, it could've been much worse.

No. We have a better squad without him.

Perhaps you should have taken the time to read the relevent posts before making such a nonsensical statement - I have consistently articulated the view that the board acted hastily, even harshly, and did not follow correct employment procedures.

The board have shown remarkable moral courage in their decision (whether you agree or disagree with it), and jibes about the moral character of players and other jibes are trite and miss the point.

From what I understand, the Dispute Resolution Chamber, (which is not binding on either party) made a recommendation on a financial settlement to Dave Rogers that is significantly less then the €10k-€15k suggested here and on Newstalk.

Of course the board cannot be satisfied that the hastiness and technical flaws in the dismissal will cost the club some money - but the change in discipline and attitude among the players and management that has followed is no co-incidence.

Dave Rogers played well for Dundalk in the short time he was at Oriel. I wish him well in the future, but the club is far better off without him.

Don't know about that Dunny. He's one of the best LBs in the league IMO and personally I was delighted he wasn't going to play against us anymore. He'd be a loss to any Irish clubs squad atm.

Can't think of any hypocrisy but I absolutely pontificate.

Don't mind you doing it either. Just think its funny that you'll have a pop at McGuinness doing it

Is this the same Dave Rogers that pulled down his shorts you're talking about?

Funnily enough ever since his sacking we have turned a corner. I stand by my statement, we are way better off without him.
