    Derry City games now Saturday

Just on eleven-a -side.com and they said that the eircom league is abolishing any games held for Thursday night. Derry City have confirmed that their home games are going to be held on Saturday and Dublin City probably on Fridays. Great move dont have to take any time off plus might stay up next time if anyone is on to go onto the razz up there.

Notice as well that derry seem to be slight favourites to get Alan Murphy if his Burnley trial doesnt work out.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Great news for anyone who fancies a trip up to the Brandywell, but if Dublin City, Shels and Rovers are all going to use tolka, won't City be forced to play their home games on saturdays, seeing as Friday nights will always be taken up with either a Shels or Rovers home game?

Yeah, doesn't Dykes say it doesn't suit the players to travel up on a Thursday night? After years of Derry fans telling the rest of us it was no different......

Cork on a Friday is a pain in the arse, but at least it's only one day off work for an overnighter or otherwise..... Anyway, I thought you'd be the one crying considering the amount of shíte you've come out with in support of Thursday night football?

    Look lads,

See as a Derry fan living in Derry Thursday nights are fantastic. What else would you be doing? Gives you another night out etc- don't mean that you miss part of a weekend drinking with a match

This was all very well when we insisted that players must live in Derry. However we seem to be moving away from this now, and therefore it makes sense to suit the players. As well as that, the League are kinda saying that we HAVE to have the games on a Friday or a Saturday.

I predict that it will have little or no effect on travelling support- people make exucses not to make the trip, be it a Thursday or a Saturday
