JVC TV problem

Parents in law have a JVC LT-26DY8ZJ linked to their sky box by a scart cable.

everytime they change channel using the Sky remote or even alter the volume with the tv remote the tv shuts down then after a few seconds it restarts and does an auto search for channels where upon it finds the sky box again.
This is driving them nuts as you can imagine

I'd be grateful for any assistance.

Sounds like the Sky remote is set to the wrong code for the telly. Try resetting it.
