Maybe I could answer your point with a question. What could the League have done to prevent this "PR disaster?"

Aye. Winkie seems to be a wab- but he's a middle-aged man on a private holiday, not a teenager on his first club trip. It may be a pain for Linfield, but hardly an avoidable embarrassment for the League.
