The captain of the North's most successful football team has been arrested during a stag trip to Spain.

Linfield skipper William 'Winkie' Murphy was arrested in Torremolinos on Friday night and is still being held today.

BBC are claiming he's been on remand in Madrid ever since he was arrested, he's now been charged and he's looking at a minimum of 8 years if convicted.

    That's a long holiday.

Not to be utterly unsympathetic as he hasn't been convicted of anything ...If I'd skipped bail from a country I'd think hard on returning to it for a family funeral, much less a stag, and would probably try and get in and out of the country over land rather than through a domestic airport.

Why did this mensa-boy not consider flying into, say, Faro instead and driving over to Malaga?

You could not make that story up, its unreal
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
