tets; it's probably fair for me to assume I was the proximate cause of the closure of the other thread considering I did over-step the mark you set down. If so, I wouldn't like to be responsible for preventing blameless others from continuing to discuss Grealish matters if at all possible. If you wish to re-open the thread, I'll refrain from posting in it completely until either Grealish has stated his committment/long-term intentions or you permit otherwise. If not, I'll go stand in the corner and suffer my punishment and guilt.

seems like that would be a good move for all concerned. i wonder would it be as first choice keeper - i'd say he'd be in with a chance anyway.

Derby had been linked with David Marshall also. I think I can say with a degree of certainty that the majority of their supporters would find this pretty underwhelming. Their number one, Lee Grant, had a terrible second half to the season but was very good before Christmas. Their current number two is an inexperienced Dutch 22 year old, Kelle Roos. He has apparently looked steady on his rare outings but obviously McClaren didn't trust him enough to drop Grant despite mistake after mistake.

Very poor for one of the goals last Saturday. He'd come on for Archer who was sent off.

Still, he now has a little window with Archer suspended in which to impress.

Says Dunne: “I was with him for six, seven years. I roomed with him. His determination to win is something I never seen in a goalkeeper before. And that passion. I’ve seen him rip doors off changing room walls and seen him put his hand through tactics boards.

“Every single game, he’s like that and that makes you better because you don’t want to be on the end of one of his bollockings. I think that helped me get better as a player. That will to win and desperation to win, and I mean desperation, like Roy Keane had, that helped the team.

Which begs the question, who would buy a book about Alan Dunne?

It would seem unlikely, wouldn't it? He wasn't able to dislodge Archer at League 1 level so maybe he'd be better off if he could join Portsmouth on a permanent basis, seeing as things went so well for him there. He was selected in the League Two team of the season.

Recent interview with him here - https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/2...rs-portsmouth/

Edit - by the way, he fell just short of that clean sheet target of twenty matches, only managing one more after that interview to take his total for the season to nineteen.

I hadn't realised he was so highly-rated at Millwall. Fair play!

One of Millwall's greatest ever? I thought wtf is that about. Who else has been in goals for Millwall?
As it turned out they had Kasey Keller for 4 seasons and Alex Stepney for 3 seasons.

So, if David slots in there at third place, that's not too shabby.

This was a list they came up with when Forde was just starting out there - https://millwallpride.wordpress.com/...l-goalkeepers/

    1. Kasey Keller (1992-1996)
    2. Alex Stepney (1963-1966)
    3. Bryan King (1967-1975)
    4. Tony Warner (1999-2004)
    5. Paul Sansome (1982-1987)

They've had a nice few Republic of Ireland goalkeepers actually in the last couple of decades, all of the others only lasting a season or so - http://www.worldfootball.net/teams/millwall-fc/10/

    Keith Branagan
    (1990-91)
    John Donegan (1991-92)
    Nick Colgan (1995-96)
    Terry Masterson (2004-05)
    Graham Stack (2004-05)
    Alan Brooks (2005-06)
    Colin Doyle (2005-06)
    David Forde (2008-17)

Fascinating interview with Richard Sadlier for second captains players chair by Forde today. Currently in pre season without a club. Talks about self doubt, fighting team mates and managers ,drinking culture and per pressure in the Irish squad to meditation. Really interesting bloke.

Good for him although at his age I think the use of the word "initial" is being somewhat optimistic.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
