    I dont think he is even Liverpools player of the season!

    I think it's nearly a case of Gerrard's goals being taken for granted at this stage. He has performed similarly to most seasons in that regard but I think he has got better and better since his role off the front man has been set in stone. Alonso is the only Liverpool player that could have touched him as Liverpool's best player this season as Torres has missed too much to be considered.

    I think Vidic was the outstanding PL performer this season but it didn't surprise me he missed out on either of the awards. Presumably the 'Writers' are for the most part English so it's hardly surprising it went to an English flair player. That said it's far less of an outrage than Giggs getting the PFA award on sentimental grounds.
