The one shown on BCC. Embassy World Champioship is run by the WDF (World Dart Federation). This is the original Darts Body. In the early ninties, the best of the WDF players players broke away to form their own body PDC (Professional Darts Corporation). Basically it had to do with the WDF not promoting the events right and the players not making enough money. The PDC is run by Barry Hearn and the promotion of Darts has really improved over the last 10 years. Most of the PDC guys are professional.
The WDF is still the official one and all international between national teams and grass root events are run by this Org.
There are a few players from the WDF who would do well enough with the PDC but don't/can't commit to all the travelling etc. But as the lads said, the standard is higher in the PDC (sky event)/ Phil Taylor is the best person in the world to have ever thrown darts..hence the 11 world titles (2 WDF and 9 PDC)...
enough info there???![]()
no drinking beer allowed these days on tv darts.cleaning up the image or what.phil; the power taylor did well to come back.looked dead & buried
I love the way the BBC version essentially reproduces the local pub venue in bigger format i.e. everyone sitting @ tables as opposed to rows of seats like almost every other sport...

Anyone know how it is that John Part, as soon as he's knocked out of the PDC is commentating the next day for the WDF.
