Some of the posters here wont like this but accoring to tonights weekend leader "Limerick FC are to push ahead with plans.....to ratify John Purcell as full time commercial manager for the eircom league club." Now i dont know who could have apponinted or is about to appoint him but a few lines later he is quoted as saying, "we cant run this club on an 'ad-hoc' basis."

I had typed a long response to this that seems to have disappeared so this is a brief response instead.
1. Why wasn't this position advertised and somebody with a financial background sought?
2. Why was John Purcell even considered? His performance in the role last season was unspectacular to say the least. The €200,000 promised was certainly not reached. I think John Purcell has an important role to play for Limerick FC but not as commerical manager.
3. We know now Nempton why there's seemingly no rush to hold this next meeting. They want to get this nailed down before meeting us for fear we might actually have something to say on the matter...
The ball is round and has many surprises.
