    Kildare 0 - 3 Wexford

In some ways I can accept being beaten 8-0 by Sporting Fingal,
which are almost fully professional I guess. But to lose so comprehensibly
at home to a fully amateur side when we have one or two semi-professionals is terrible. Which ever players are getting paid should do the right thing and give the money back.

What is going so wrong ? And now we've had John Ryan fail, Thomas Donnelly fail, and Joey Somerville well on his way already to failing - can everyone please stop blaming the manager.

    Some highlights below.

Can only agree with you and would have been very disappointed if I had been a Kildare fan at the match. Kildare looked very short of fitness and lost virtually every header and 50-50 tackle. We have had problems getting any sort of win against you before but the match yesterday was like a training spin.

Maybe the references in the programme by Somerville to getting a raft of new players in June hasn't helped but a lot of those players looked like they had given up the ghost.

Anyway, good luck in the rest of the season as there seems to be a group of hard-working volunteers very committed to the continuation of County in the League.

Have to say you are very nieve if you think Wexford Youths are an amateur side

Putting him down after one game!!!!!!!!

Agree that the fitness levels are poor but believe it or not that was one of our better displays

As for losing headers - we are a very small side and will not win anything in the air. Some very good passages of football when we played it along the ground.

Wexford are a half-decent side in fairness. They're top of the rest (i.e. outside of UCD, Fungus, Shels and Waterford, who seem to be challenging on their own for promotion), and that's a fair reflection of them, from what I've seen of the division.

David have to disagree, Like pineapple stu said, Wexford have been having a decent season to date (their second goal was as great finish.)

Sommerville has been in charge for just over a week now (April 26th, 27th?) John Ryan had a far larger budget than either Copper Donnelly or what Sommerville will have and could only manage 7th at best, no one is blaming Donnelly a lot of people feel he was hard done by, on what is proabably by far the smallest budget in the league he was always going to have his work cut out for him, if Sommerville can do better (and I hope he does),then great.
Everyone needs something to believe in, I believe I'll have another beer.

any idea what kind of budget ye're working off this season?
I’m not pedantic...I’m merely overly concerned with minute details.

According to Wallace they approached him to play for the club on the understanding that it was amateur.

Now I've no doubt that the expenses paid by Wallace are pretty good and that amateur Youths players may well be taking home as much in expenses as some semi-professionals are getting in wages.

I think that was the point being made.
