The bigger question is why it hasn't been touched since IMO.

That's not the groundstaff's decision to make, though. Unless they've been advised otherwise from on high, they should have addressed the problem that was identified before the pitch was next used.

Theres a video up on the Shels forum, the pitch did look pretty bad from what we see in it, and I don't blame the ref at all for pulling the game.
Lets redefine what it means to heal

Bad, or dangerous? I watched a couple of DVDs of the LoI in the 80s recently. I'd forgotten how much pitches have come on since then. Abbeycarton, Belgium Park etc. A bad pitch is very different from a dangerous pitch.

I've seen the video of the pitch...no way was it playable. Players legs and arms would have been torn to shreds. And as Sheridan points out, how the hell can you have a LOI ref deem your pitch unplayable and dangerous and 5 days later it remains untouched? From the outside looking in, I'm afraid to say that Harps appear in rag order, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see an * beside their name soon, or if they drop out altogether.

Either that ref has no regard for player safety or someone broke into Finn Park overnight to help dash their gaf!

The groundsman didn't touch the pitch since friday, the big question is, how can a ref pass the pitch 5 days after it was turned down and no work done on it since?

The ref DIDN'T pass the pitch as playable yesterday.

    The game was called OFF

He DID pass the game at 1pm and again at 4pm at 6pm the game was called off due to lying water, it has been raining up here for 3 days.

I have a copy of the email sent from the League Office to both clubs yesterday and it clearly states the pitch at Finn Park IS playable.

The pitch was inspected yesterday in the early afternoon and confirmation was given to both Harps and Sligo that the pitch was playable. However, due to the amount of rain that fell afterwards, the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The above are the facts, believe them if you want or not. However, to keep some people happy, don't let simple little things like facts get in the way of a good story.

If people like CSF and yourself post nonsense about this issue, I'll reply in kind.

Loads of games get called off at short notice. Get over it and move on...

Funnily enough it happened Pats in Finn Park within the last few years.

A few games were called off due to floodlight problems too. I was in Dalymount park once waiting on a Bohs/Pats game that was called off with 20 minutes to kick off.

    RIDDEN ROCK SOLID!

I demand, I mean DEMAND, that Pats get 10-0 walkovers against Bohs for the next 10 games.

It's a DISGRACE, a NATIONAL DISGRACE! When are the Government going to do something about this??????????

    DISGRACE!!!!

The faux-ignorance on here by people who claim to not see the obvious difference between power failures/acts of God etc and self-inflicted damage that leads to other people being financially hamstrung is stupefying.

You don't like Shels, WE GET IT!
