Pats for me a proper shocker closely followed by the Longford result in Wales.
So - we've had the best - now, on the flip side what about the worst?
Dishonourable mentions to:
Bohs vs. Levadia Tallinn - the 3-1 loss at Dalymount that had a big bearing on Kenny going.
Finn Harps 0-12 Derby County in 1977
Longford losing 5-1 to Carmarthen in a quite bizarre match in Newtown, Wales in the 2005 UEFA Cup. A match I was at in person...
St Pats and the 10-0 defeat to the Moldovan Coal Miners
Shels going out meekly to the Maltese Ice Cream Sellers in 2002 - maybe they thought they were playing the other Hibernian?
A case maybe for Derry going out to Pyunik of Armenia in 07-08?
(Although I fully expect mypost to drag himself in here and post his usual incorrect rubbish about Vaduz beating Longford being a shock result that should never have happened, etc. etc. etc.)
Kom Igen, FCK...
Pats for me a proper shocker closely followed by the Longford result in Wales.
Worst individual result in my time was Rovers losing 7-0 in one leg v some Polish crowd
Our Moldovan disaster being the wost over 2 legs (closely followed by Longfor v the Wesh I'd imagine). At least the Moldovans were pros...

We had some awful euro nights also, but most of these were against very big clubs in the old 32 team euro cup, but hammerings all the same 0-10 away to Liverpool in 1968 was one.
I think other clubs had very poor results, Longfords in Wales was a pure disaster, actually embarrassing, drogs losing 6-0 + 8-0 to Spurs in 83, and a side that always puzzled me why they never went further in europe was the great Rovers 4-in-a-row side from 1984 -87. Def one of the best quality Irish teams I have seen but never really achieved that much in Europe.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
Haka 4-0 Cork City was a shocking result last season.
Galway United lost 7-0 on aggregate to Lyngby (Denmark)
Longford losing 5-1 crushed me. we had a brilliant side for a rural team and we were two nil up from the first leg.
Bray losin 4-0 in both legs to Grasshopper Zurich! John walsh saved a pen in the first leg away, a good point.... Stephane chapusait played for them at that stage. Match for 2nd leg was actually played in the carlisle!
Harry and Liam, Harry and Liam, Harry and Liam, Harry and Liam.
Drogheda's two defeats to Spurs in the UEFA Cup. 7-0 and 8-0 I think? The Levida match in Dalymount was the worse I witness as a Bohs fan. Also Odense 5-0 Pat's. I remember watching this in Bulgaria and the so-called Irish football fans loving the fact that an LOI side was getting a thumping. I think that got my back up more so than the defeat.

Longford losing in Wales to me.
Pats v Zimbru was a strange game - I thought Pats were going to hammer them in the first 15 minutes but were humiliated in the end.
Derby 12 Harps 0
Waterford losing to Omonia Nicosia in 1972 when Cypriot teams were really bad. They lost 13-0 on aggregate in the next round to Bayern.
Shels losing to Hibs of Malta.
Shels abject defeats to Akranes 3-0 home and away
Dundalk v Varteks (0-9 on agg) in 2002 would be up there but we were a First Division side and they were after knocking Aston Villa out the previous year, so it was expected.
It's one thing losing 8 or 10 or even 12-0 to one of the best teams in Europe, it's quite another losing out to Maltese opposition.
A decent Shels side losing to Hibs Malta was the worst for me, Zimbru is another obvious candidate.
In terms of most disappointing performances though 2 of the 4 great teams of the last 40 years- Rovers 4-in-a-row and Waterford 66-73- under performed in Europe.
