Smart casual? what the hell is that like? a silly american expression used in call centres.
I would have thought that people might try and make an effort and look their best. after all, it is still xmas!
As for jeans etc? Come on like?

you're right there conor with the casual...i have a suit but it only gets an airing for weddings and funerals..shoes, jeans and shirt is smart enough for this kinda thing.......i say that everyone brings a city shirt with them and change into them at 12:00....pure cindrella like.....
still working on a ticket tho........got someone to call into the Evening Echo Office and the receptionist didnt have a clue about any tickets for the Ball....Also mailed the club but still haven't had a reply....Have someone else trying to get me a ticket now...here's hoping.....
Bought my tickets
(after entering every competition possible to win some!)
at the club shop yesterday.
Seemed to be plenty available.

Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?
