Looking like it could be Roddy, back from his most excellent adventure. Never know, he could just be what's needed....
I heard Don O'Riordan is to be the manager.

If it is Roddy, I am pretty sure he played for Athlone in the mid eighties I think-top scorer so it would be a good move on Athlones part if it is true.
It would be great if he went to Athlone but that would mean Athlone would have to buy out his 3year contact at €1000 per week so its not gonna happen.Originally posted by Estar

Collins interested in Athlone
Former Bohemians and Carlisle United manager Roddy Collins has not ruled out taking the Athlone Town job while he has also admitted to be monitoring the situation at Waterford United.
Collins has been jobless since he was sacked from the Carlisle position after the clubs poor start in Division 3 of the Nationwide League. In that spell he has been linked with a number of positions and has argued that he should never have been removed from the Carlisle post.
Collins played with Athlone before making his name as a manager with Bohemians who he won league honours with.
"I am actually waiting to hear about a few jobs that I have applied for but I certainly would not rule out taking the Athlone job," said Collins.
"I have a lot of respect for the people of Athlone and I have played for the club. It is a big club and my good friend Turlough O’Connor was involved with them at management level.
"I have turned down one job already, as I really want a challenge like I had when I went to Bohs and Carlisle United.
"At the moment I am waiting to hear back from a club across the water and a club in the north. I am also keeping an eye on a few League of Ireland positions such as the Waterford situation."
