Didn't retire on an R & R stop on the way to the world cup finals themselves coz he didn't like the manager though, did he?

Let's be honest, it's not similar at all, is it?

Do we really have to go through all this again
I was simply correcting a point made by Scram when he was the one that brought Larrson up.
It is similar that Larrson and Keane retired from international football and both returned to it.... and the same as quite a few others in world football.
And for the record it was McCarthys choice to send Keane home from the so called R+R stop
    Its really not that complicated!!!

Well Larrson and Keane are probably my 2 favorite players of all time so you get no arguements from me about that

I wasn't actually, I was correcting a point made by Eirebhoy. Any more corrections needed, please let me know.

After Keane had behaved impeccably all week of course. It's not like Mick thought long and hard and calculatedly decided to send him home. It's all semantics. I could have set fire to my school and been expelled, and rightly said well it was their fault I'm not in school anymore - they sent me home.

Keane had a jet chartered to take him back if he'd only swallow his pride and take into consideration the wishes of his whole country and the thousands that had forked out hard-earned cash to go out and watch him. That TV interview with Tommie Gorman still sticks in my craw.

As James Lawton said, he's motivated by self-interest only.

I've resisted comment on the S-word for 5 years now but just couldn't keep it in any longer.

Anyway, I blame Tom Humphries more than anyone.

I'd prefer Larsson to babysit NeilMcD's imaginary children.

I blame DHL and Ray Treacy !!!!!

Honestly at the time I would have sided with Keane on this but as time goes by and as I get older I feel that he was more to blame than Mc Carthy but neither came out of it great but honestly if I met either I would shake both their hands for their performances for Ireland and I can honestly say that I hope both of them do well at their clubs as there is not that many Irish managers at the higher levels of the game.

My mother told me she heard it on the radio this evening, which my younger brother confirmed shortly after. I have been searching the RTE website to find some sort of official confirmation, with no success so far, but as soon as I do I'll post it.

RTE usually don't post the guest list for the Late Late and Tubridy Tonight until Friday
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

They probably had to build a bigger studio to house Roy Keane's sense of self-importance. The builders may have let it slip.

Just advertised after the United game. Off the top of my head, this is his first Irish tv interview since he was on the Dunphy show. Trust Kenny will make a balls of the interview and ask no uncomfortable/awkward questions.

His interview with the 4 rugby lads was a cringe.

    What questions should be asked?

Is it reasonable for a club's owner to expect the manager to attend training nearly all of the time?

What do you think of the Irish at Ipswich?

    What would qualify as success?

How do you rate Mick's achievement of winning Championship a second time?

    Does Marcus Evans actually exist?

I don't expect anything more probing than "where did you buy that nice suit?"

.....during which Roy stated "what do you mean sent home, nobody sent me home"
