I just think its funny that Hughes nickname is "sparky". Supposedly Stephen Irelands nickname is "sparkles."
Good start for Keane as Ipswich manager. 3-0 away to Cardiff.
Why did Alex Bruce get subbed off at 27 minutes? Was he injured?
Dislocated his thumb - http://www.itfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetai...639376,00.html
Alex Bruce will have a scan to determine the extent of the damage to his thumb.
The Republic of Ireland international was forced off in the first-half of Blues' 3-0 win at Cardiff after dislocating his thumb.
It was X-rayed and he was given the thumbs up
Roy keane is the best manager ever. The mans a genius. ipswich will be universe champions
Jeez i have swallowed all the hype. I hope this is not as good as it gets for Roy at Ipswich. Keane out I just can't cope with the hype !
I see Keane's first game made the front page of the Sunday Tribune; no surprises there!
I still don't really see what people think is the problem here.
Nakamura makes the main headline in the Japanese Sports pages when he scores for Celtic.
Larsson would be the main headline in Sweden if he took over an English club and won 3-0.
Polish TV have been showing every Celtic game since they signed Boruc and Zurawski.
Beckham was most likely on the back pages of the English papers when he made his debut for Real Madrid.
etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.
/edit to point out to people that it's front page of the sports section, not the main paper.

FRONT PAGE of The Sunday Turbine, whilst unemployment is expected to hit 450,000 this year and the country is in the midst of a Fianna Fail driven disaster!! Perspective please!
There is a HUGE difference between showing games and back page coverage of CURRENT players than the ridiculous media frenzy and front page coverage around this ex-player and begrudger of all his ex Ireland team mates.
Larrson would absolutely NOT be Front page news in Sweden for any result unless it was the national team, why would you presume otherwise?
And, your points re. "Polish TV have been showing every Celtic game since they signed Boruc and Zurawski." etc., actually shows how ludicrous the media coverage here of Roy Keane is, in that RTE do not "show every game of Robbie Keane" for example, yet there is all this coverage of Roy Keane!!!
Total inconsistency and porn to feed the moronic RoyKeaneophiles, rushing out to buy Ipswich jerseys, total Muppets.
League of Ireland supporters must be outraged and rightly so, especially when you see the likes of the disgraced former Taoiseach jumping on the Keane bandwagon.
No, sorry, amaccann made a mistake there which I should have picked up on. It's not front page of the Tribune. There's no mention of sport on their front page. It's on the front page of their sports section. The main headline is about Liverpool's win. On top of that is O'Leary to miss out on Lions squad. And Keane's debut win is the side article.
So no need for me to reply to the rest of your post as it's obviously based on this story being front page news which it wasn't.
Uh yeah, I should have been more specific, it was the front page of the Sports section (along with Man U's result & Thomas O'Leary's injury in rugby). Plus there's a full page inside dedicated to Keane's new role.
He's the greatest player we've had in my lifetime, plus he's a very controversial figure. I don't blame the papers for having these stories, I'm a big Keane fan and I'll pay to read them. That doesn't make me a muppet. I have my own theory on people who follow the LOI but I don't want to get into any trouble on this site so I'll keep those thoughts to myself.
I have to say, given that an Irish manager and ex Irish captain actually won the Championship on Saturday, the lack of match reports and pictures in the majority of papers shows up how biased the mdeia are in this country when compared to the 2 page spreads and full match reports on Ipswich's result.
There was an interview in the indo on Saturday as well, I just think that there should have been reports on Saturday's game given that he actually won the title then. And that a large number of Irish players were invovled in that sucess. Compare that to when Sunderland won it a couple of years back. Souvenier posters, special supplements, the works!
