I've never seen something like this, but here are a couple of suggestions:
Disable Cooliris and restart Firefox to determine if that's the problem.
If it's not, try reinstalling Firefox.

You can't spell failure without FAI
I haven't seen that but did have a problem with it crashing recently. I took out most of the addons & seems more reliable. That said on another machine firefox with addons is working fine so not sure what that proves..
You can export bookmarks. Think its - Bookmarks > Organise Bookmarks - you can figure it out from there. Alternately you should be able to save settings, bookmarks and extensions in one go. See here

lads having the exact same problem not sure if it happened after i installed updates, its ok on my own PC but not on the girlfriends laptop. Wondering what it could be, sometimes it wont actually load the page at all(or maybe it does and i just dont wait long enough and start up IE).
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
Firefox always seems to take a minute or so to boot up. It's worth the wait though, couldn't imagine going back to using IE all the time. The latest version did seem to be quicker at first but as I've built up new addons it's gotten slower.

Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.
MozBackup will automate this and save it all into one file, which can be password-protected if necessary. I use it regularly to keep my 3 rigs in sync, it's an absolute godsend. Plus it's an external application - which can be run from a flash drive if necessary - so it doesn't affect Firefox's performance.
Xmarks, formerly Foxmarks, is the kiddy for sharing bookmarks between computers, plus they're stored in a central location so recovering from a crash or reinstall is just a matter of reinstalling the Add On.

Cheers got bookmarks backed up now so going to try and re-install soon, have been using Chrome a lot recently and have noticed its a lot faster than Firefox not just on start up but browsing as-well only downside is its not fully compatable wiht all sites yet.

Chrome is probably the best browser available for non-power users right now. If you don't need the extenstions, it's faster and easier to use.
What sites isn't it compatible with?
