I think McGeogh would have been a better choice. I'm not saying that Dykes doesn't deserve his chance, just that McGeogh would be a better choice of the two.
Dykes signs new Derry deal
Gavin Dykes has agreed a new two-year contract at Derry City after guiding the Candystripes to Premier Division safety in his three months in charge at the Brandywell.
Dykes took over from Dermot Keely – to whom he had been assistant manager – in September, and despite winning just one of his first 13 games at the helm, managed to lead a final month charge that kept the Foylesiders in the top flight.

Nah, Dykes is definately the man for the job. And after keeping us up it's only right he was offered a contract.
Besides, McGeough is being linking with Harps.
