Ouch. Beaten too easily there, but to be fair, the lad Pacheco is amazing.
He's supposed to have played well otherwise. From an Everton messageboard:

Duffy : Was beaten too easily by the Liverpool attacker for their goal,apart from that he played well ,even though it wasn't a game that best suited a centrehalf of his type .He became more dominant as the game went on and it is clear that he is one of the players that the others look to for leadership.
I think he would benefit from playing first team football ata lower level for a while.

Alongside Germany U17 international Shkodran Mustafi, Duffy formed a centre-back partnership last season that kept an astonishing thirteen consecutive clean sheets, while he is also a key goal threat from set pieces and a taker of both free-kicks and penalties. Where the excitement lies is that Everton’s youth setup seems to centre-around him in a manner not a million miles away from how it used to around first Wayne Rooney and Jack Rodwell.

That's fairly impressive at any level. I didn't know he was a free kick taker. Alex (Chelsea) style I presume but maybe I'm selling the towering CB short

Quite an amazing recovery he's made from that injury. Sounds like he could be an option for the national side sooner rather than later.

You have to wonder what it might have been and why the owner would disregard the opinion of Mark Robbins and his coaching and scouting staff. Not that it's the end of the world, but Duffy is right to be annoyed.

Ha, perhaps. I suppose the owner wants a more experienced player, but you'd think he'd trust the manager's opinion.

According to the Mirror, Leeds are looking likely to sign him on loan in January. That could be a great move. Leeds are currently 5th in the Championship.
