    Michael Doyle

Why hasn't mick doyle been called into the squad..
Staunton is a joke..calls Jay Tabb and some lad of Luton in the squad and leaves Coventry's skipper like a tick..!!

Foley plays at the back and Doyle does not so thats not a comparison and Jay Tabb is an attacking player who can also play wide in midfield. As far as I know Doyle is a central midfielder so its Andy Reid Alan Quinn and Lee Carsley who are there ahead of him.
    In Trap we trust

He was about 2 or 3 years ago but afaik he's playing regularly in the centre for some time now.

Central midfielder. Keeps Tabb out of the team usually. Should be in the squad

    He's both.

Neil's right. Tabb was called up to replace Kevin Doyle, Kevin Foley was in for Carr I think.

Having a pop at Staunton for basics such as persisting with the notion that Kilbane can play central midfield is fair game in my opinion, but for not picking Michael Doyle is harsh.

Michael Doyle has captained Sheffield United to the FA Cup semi-finals today, participating in a 2-0 victory over Charlton.

IDK but it always amazes me that there are so many posters who never comment in the International section. Its the main attraction!!

I see a lot of myself in eirebhoy. Looking through his forum posts, I have the same kind of opinions and enthusiasm about Irish football.

An Irish International who shall remain unnamed was socialising with one of my mates - I can verify through Facebook that they are friends - and my mate asked him why Simon Cox was starting ahead of Shane Long (this was a couple of years ago). With a deadly straight face, he shook his head and said that Trapattoni thought that Cox was Long and nobody, not even Tardelli, could convince him otherwise.

Trapattoni is an old man. Cox and Long are/were strikers playing at the same club. Same age. Both good looking lads. You put it past him?

He banished Marc Wilson from the squad because he thought he was someone else.

Trust me. I had the same reaction as you but my mate has a good head on his shoulders (unlike me) and he said he was really serious.
