    The Masters

Who do people will think will win this year. Great start by Campbell. Very high scoring today. Should be a good tournament.

Wide open so far. It's hard to go against Tiger, but I think Paddy has a good chance. Sitting nicely at 3 under after day one.
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

Tiger should do it. Played very well today, the putts just didn't drop for him. I fancy kenny perry to be in the top4. He's a good driver of the ball and can have some great putting weeks. Harrington should be in the top10 but I don't think he will win. Mcilroy has a bit of work to do if he wants to get into after shooting a 72 today. Struggled with the irons. Mcdowell,as i expected, did well. A couple of bogies at the end but had a 69 and he could be in for a top10 finish. Twas exciting with some good rounds(looked like campbell might break the course record) but you can be sure the pin positions(or hole locations as they like to call them in Augusta) will be tougher tomorrow. If anyone can take Tiger, I reckon it will be '07 champ Zach Johnson. He's had a good start to the season with a 1st and a 3rd already and his game obciously suits Augusta. He had a 69 today and if he can shoot another round in the 60s tomorrow he will be in good shape.

Harrington still in with a shout. Very unlucky on 15 with a gust of wind moving his ball after he addressed the putt. Even with the penalty, he still made par. Unlucky not to get it back to 3 under on 18. Needs to have a big day tomorrow. McIlroy may be disqualified after kicking the sand in the bunker. Kicking the sand could be considered testing the condition of a hazard under rule 13-4, bringing with it a two stroke penalty and subsequent disqualification for signing for an incorrect score. Some great shots by Mickleson today on the back nine. Garcia right back in it also. It's going to be a very interesting final two rounds.

Watched the last hour of it. Compulsive viewing. The comentators are paying little heed to Angel Cabrera. It's all about Perry. The middle aged American who has never won a major. He is playing cracking golf. His drives and iron play are immaculate. He is two up coming in to the last two holes. Suddenly his drives and iron play desert him. Pressure can ruin a man's game. He drops a shot at each of the last two holes. It is a 3 was play off between Perry, Campbell and Perry. Perry still can't find the fairway but it is Campbell who gets knocked out at the first and Perry again can't find the fairway at the 2nd and, hang on a second. it's Cabrera who wins to muted applause, except two guys in Celtic jerseys who give him a big ovation. Great viewing. I felt for Perry, but pressure told in the end.

Not a golf fan but really enjoyed it.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

As an aside, it is a real pleasure to listen to BBC's golf commentary team.
