Oh well, I wouldn't have any worries about Alan Gough in goals anyhow even though he doesn't want to be playing.

Not a chance ... and true to my word, after we left Athlone we realised that we had no blu-tac ...
there'll be a shop in Ballymahon was a suggestion but I made sure we stopped in Glasson to pick it up there.

Was great top see 2 of our younger fans follow suit too and arrive to the match with bags of sweets
    bought in Athlone

We could not create any decent chances. Oncve we got to the 18 yard box it all broke down. Was a nice spring evening for the match though

I am feeling awful demoralised after saturday night. Athlone seem to be more hungrier than our boys.I am afraid to say it but this is Athlones best chance to finish ahead of us in a long long time.We had only one chance in the first half but only for des hope clearing off the line from a jim sheridan shot it might have have crept over the line.

Oh well hope it will be a different story for tomorrow night. I assume alan gough will be in goal again. The sooner Knopka comes in the better as Alan is much suited to being on the sidelines.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

This team im afraid will do nothing this year. There is no midfield whatsoever. We have some decent backs (God bless Tom King as the guy runs himself into the groud all the time) but theres nothing in the middle. Getting Vinny Perth back would have been a strong notch up on what we have. I feel this could be a long season & we staill have to play Shelbourne, UCD & Fingal yet. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
And yes yes yes I know rebuilding etc....
I just sit down at the typewriter & start hittin the keys, just hittin the keys. Getting them in the right order though thats the trick, thats the trick.

Totally agree nothing in midfield at all, any team we come up against with a a half decent midfield will easily over run us. We have no bite in there at all. Hopefully a couple of changes in there for next game. The back 4 of King McCarthy Sheridan Kenny is decent and hasnt conceaded many, a strong midfield would add to their stability.

I wouldn't be planning for a season with Jimbo, the knee will give in soon
enough. Solid defender though when fit.

Four successive defeats now. Let's hope we're not on our way to challenging last year's record. I know we've no money but it's disappointing for everyone when we lose to teams around us like Wexford and Athlone. Especially the latter as they've even less money than we do by all accounts. Wasn't at tonight's game by the way so I don't know what the team was like or how they played, just going on the result.

We were certainly better than Saturday but not good enough to win or even draw. Had a few chances but there seems to be a lack of confidence, which is probably to be expected given the current run.

Onwubiko scored to cracking goals, frustrating considering we had him on trial but never signed him. They missed a good few scorable chances too in the second half, could have lost by 4 or 5 in the end.
