    LOI Week 5

No odds as yet, obviously, but UCD v Kildare strikes me as the most obvious banker. Kildare are atrocious, could have conceded over 10 by all accounts against Fingal, while UCD seem to have their tails between their legs and a few strikers who can actually score at this level.

Shels to bring Mervue back down to earth quickly would be another solid one. Don't expect any value on Fingal after their 8-0.

Nothing really sticking out at me in the Premier this week.

William Hill have prices up now,

UCD 1/3. Should we lump on or hope and wait for a better price?!

Rovers 11/10 away to Drogs also could appeal to me

I'd lay that all day. The side that Matthews has assembled ain't bad and they are doing a decent job considering. Granted they haven't score yet but they are not conceding many either. Although Dundalk did put 3 past them 2 of them were from the spot. I won't be surprised if Drogs get their first point(s) of the season next Friday.

Fingal 8/15 there. I expected that to be a lot worse. No real value with UCD at 1/3, so I'm looking at the Franchise right now.

And with 10 men also. I'd fancy Rovers though if Kenna isn't back from suspension.

UCD ht-ft @ 4/5 looks a good bet to me with Will Hill.

There are also 2 League cup games on tonight, I notice Bet365 are betting in running on them!

    PaddyPower odds:
    Finn Harps v Kildrum Tigers
    4 - 7
    5 - 2
    4 - 1

    Salthill Devon v Mervue United
    3 - 1
    9 - 4
    4 - 5

Kildrum were cut from into 12/5 by KO but lost.

PP go 1/7 Harps and 3/10 Fingal making those Will Hill prices big standouts now, both games are 99% books at the mo, with Boyles the only others to price them up so far.

Think Bohs to beat Cork at 10/11 looks a great bet (with bet365)

Agree with that Dodge - Cork look to be struggling and the team morale can't be great with players not being paid.

Hills treble of Fingal, UCD & Shels in Division 1 looks a great bet.

They've lost two influential players in Dempsey and, dare I say, Leech. Bray will provide a very tough game and I wouldn't be too happy backing Pats away at that price.

And of course, Bray have an excellent home record. Although to be fair, our record there in recent times is excellent (winning 3/4, the other a 0-0 draw)

I think Dempsey will be replaced by either Lynch (with gavin going right full, and Harris coming back into central defence) or Stuey Byrne. Leech will be replaced by Moran who started (and played well) in the games v Sligo and Cork and scored v dundalk. Quigley now has nearly 2 hours of match time under his belt so he'll be all the better for it. I'd fully expect Pats to win this, but as ever with them, I won't be betting. Use the information as you wish though

UCD now cut to 1/5 Will hills which is the best price now available.

BUT they still have UCD HT-FT @ 4/5 and have UCD to win both halves at a huge 13/8 (only 5/6 with Boyles)

I have to say I was pretty impressed with Bray in the 2nd half against Galway 2 weeks ago.
Kavanagh is a big loss to them but he went off just before half time in that game. Pat's are obviously playing much better than when Kenna bottled it on the 1st game (I bet he wishes he didn't take the week off pre-season!) but i think Bray could still hold them.

As regards Hills prices those match prices are on the midweek coupon so I'd suggest going into a shop and backing them on their coupon today!

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

    Jesus - I couldn't agree with that!

Drogheda seem to be getting better with each game while it looks like Michael O'Neill doesn't know what his best team is yet.

Fair enough Drogs haven't scored yet this season but I think this is the type of game they could well win - or against us next week!

I think Derry look a bet tonight @ just under 4/5- obviously Farren is a loss but Tommy Stewart has been scoring goals - we struggled in midfield last week against Sligo and I can't see it getting any better with Barry Molloy back for Derry.

    UCD -V- Kildare County

It’s top versus bottom in the First Division and it’s hard to see past an easy home win for this one. UCD beat Fingal away 1-0 and Fingal beat this lot 8-0 last week so that's a plus. UCD have a striker who has scored 5 goals in 4 games - Kilduff I think his name is so that's another plus. UCD have a 100% strike rate so far. They are a young side with plenty of enthusiasm so will want to try score as many goals as possible. I'd be worried if they were a more experienced side who would be happy to sit back and score on the counter attack.

Last month I was down in Newbridge for the Shels Kildare friendly and we stuffed them 5-1 without breaking a sweat. We also made 11 subs against them and still looked comfortable. They have a centre half who wouldn't look out of place riding a horse, he's no taller than 5 foot. Kildare were brought into this division at the last minute, they were expecting to be in the A Championship which doesn't start till June so they had to get any sort of player they could get their hands on.

The only negative I can think of is this is UCD afterall.

Kildare have lost their last 3 games 8-0, 4-0, and 3-1. I’m on UCD HT/FT @ 4/5 with Hills. Though this price is now gone but you can still get UCD to win both halves @ 13/8.

    Bohemians -V- Cork City

Bohs once again look like they could be winning the league so another home win looks like once again. Judging by Bohs accounts they could be ****ed soon so it’s up to us to try make money from them before they go bust. I haven’t got much reasoning as to why I should be backing Bohs except that they are much stronger than Cork, who’ll be happy with a draw. I’m backing Bohs @ an average of 1.85 on Betfair, you can get 5/6 with Victor Chandler.

    Drogheda United -v- Shamrock Rovers

The side that Matthews has assembled ain't bad and they are doing a decent job considering. Granted they haven't score yet but they are not conceding many either. Although Dundalk did put 3 past them 2 of them were from the spot. I won't be surprised if Drogs get their first point(s) of the season next Friday.

    Bray -V- St Pats

Kenna will have to plan without Gary Dempsey and top scorer Mark Leech for next few months. Both suffered lower leg breaks in the Dundalk game and will miss the next three months at a minimum. These are big loses to away side in the creativity department. They will find it hard breaking down Bray at home and the home side would be happy to take a draw from this one.

I don’t fancy Pats or Rovers this weekend so I’ll be placing a lay double on them with Belfair @ 3.1

    Selections:

UCD HT/FT @ 4/5 with Hills - 3pts. Though this price is now gone but you can still get UCD to win both halves @ 13/8.

    Bohs @ 1.85 with Betfair - 2pts

Laying Rovers & Pats double @ 3.1 with Betfair 1pt
    Who Cares?!
