Anyone see Spillanes "Dream Team" in the Echo during the week ( I know people tend not to read his tripe anymore ..... but it took up awhole page for God's sake )![]()
Anyway, one of the biggest talking points was his front two - Byrne and Crowe.
On initial viewing it seems reasonable enough ( top two strikers from a goals scored perspective ) until you put some thought into the whole selection process.
What the tosser neglected to take into account was that Flynny missed the last third of the season ........... yet still ended up as the joint third scorer..........even the likes of Bird and co. couldn't catch him.
Spillane's Dublin bias and his obvious wish to work for the Indo or the Hearld comes through yet again ............ my only surprise is that he didn't try to slip in Hassilbank or Duff or Lampard ( all part of "his team" )
Spillane for The Tribune ( we'll never hear from him again then).
Irish by birth,
Cork by the grace of God.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
