Peter Jackson is making The Hobbit after King Kong.

The Hobbit is due for release in 2006.

On the same theme, "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" is out next year.

    Can't wait for them.

(i'll give King Kong a skip though).

I'm afraid I never went for the whole favourite band / favourite song / favourite movie thing. I have lots of favourite bands / songs / movies.

Probably the best movie Trilogy , although the third film has often let a series down...
Godfather III (should never have been made)
    Matrix Rehashed was terrible
Star Wars (Ewoks thrown in for merchandising broke my very young heart)
    Alien III was awful

ROTK has already had nothing but glowing reviews, it'll be good.

But to call it the best film ever made is stretching it a bit.

    Greatest film?

Lads cop on, forget all that magical fairies and evil goblins childish nonsense, Commando with Arnold Schwarzennegger is the finest film of all time by a mile. Look up the quotes on imdb, every single one is hilarious - "You're gonna cooperate with us...right?"....."Wrong!" then he shoots the guy in the head!, "What did you do with Sully?"......."I let him go" after dropping poor sleazy Sully off a cliff, and lots, lots more. Most of Arnies finest one liners come from Commando

It's even got a camp Australian Freddie Mercury impersonator wearing a string vest as the villain (Vernon Wells in a career defining role). What more do you want? The numerous continuity errors throughout even add to the whole enjoyability of the thing. There's nothing that isn't hilariously fantastic about this piece of over the top 80s genius.

While Commando is most certainly a contender for the title of "Greatest Film of All Time", in my humble opinion the holder of that crown is another of Arnie's finest, Predator.

It too is full to the brim with excruciatingly bad quotes, witness "what's this f***ing tie business?" addressed to a necktie-sporting CIA agent, "Stick Around", aimed at an unfortunate guerilla who has just been attached to a door by Arnie's flying dagger and the era defining and oft quoted "If it bleeds, we can kill it". Never has a single movie provided so many quotes usable in so many of life's everyday situations. Add in the wonderful chopper sequence backed by "Long Tall Sally" and the carnage-tastic sacking of the guerilla village during which Arnie's crack posse remain totally unscathed despite facing 40 hardened nutters armed to the teeth. What a potent mix.

Which only leaves one question. Why, oh, why did they have to make Predator 2?
Maybe you should put her on a leash, agent-man.

Apocalpyse now was a bit weird and unwatchable.
The whole Alien series was good imo, though the first two are def better than the last two.
Casino is a classic gangster flick aswell.

    Thumbs up

in case any one was wondering, that nice woman in The Gate bought my spare ticket back off of me.

    film was superb.

    i thoroughly enjoyed it.

the audience with me applauded loads of times.

    i will never understand that.

    why clap in the cinema?

it's not as if Elijah Wood or Ian McKellan or whoever can actually hear you!

anyway, great film, 3 hours 10 mins long (not 21).

    go see it!
