If you think Chippie or Gartlan hate Rovers you should talk to some of the old codgers up at Dalymount. Now that's real hatred.

went to many rovers matches at dalymount as it happens, and yes I see it happening again, I'll give u a shout at the next rovers home match there

So WaR (or TommyT) what is it? Has it always been Bohs (and therefore you can’t move in with them) or do you rivals periodically change and there’s nothing really to stop you miving back there?
No one's ever denied that the Bohs rivalry only took off in the 70s. When Shels went to **** and Drums left the league. There was also a deep seated rivalry with Waterford from the days when Rovers used to win the Cup and they'd win the league. I think Limerick was more of a hooligan rivalry than a football one, sort of a Millwall-Cardiff in pre-contraception Ireland.
EL grounds are like good episodes of The Simpsons, no matter how many times you see them they're still funny

Exactly. So if the rivalry is that new, it can easily be "toned down" for the purposes of them leasing their ground to you. Again.

Don't think it'd happen just saying that those who are calling it a ridiculous idea should maybe think a little about it

The taxpayer does not fund any of the sports in UCD. They are funded by the registration fee payed by the students at the start of term and to a lesser extent by the income from the bar in the sports centre in UCD.

    In my honest opinion:

    1)Bohemians
2)3)4) Shels,Super City and Cork City (no particular order)
    5) St. Pat's
6)Longford (too much is being expected of them presently)
    7)Shamrock Rovers
    8)Drogheda United
    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
    9)Waterford utd
    *******************************
    10) Dublin City

    Division 1

    1)Bray Wanderers
    2)Finn Harps
    3)UCD
    4) Kildare County

Waterford to win the final beating Finn Harps in the final after extra time.

and the rivals bit is only a minor detail, especially if you've nowhere in dublin to play

anyway its the only logical alternative left, thats all I'm saying, simple deduction

Bohs, and Bohs fans [especially the members] will have a major problem with Rovers using Dalymount. I dont want th
    at shower using our ground

Why should we take them in ??

we took them in once before, and we should never take them in again.

I dont think the league will suffer if rovers vanish. Bohs letting rovers play in dalymount is helping them and I dont want to see Bohs help them.

I dunno. I think the Scum still attracts the biggest crowd of any visiting team at Turners X. They don't bring many fans, but we turn out to shout at them.

And I don't think it's a good idea for any of our premier division teams to fall apart. The league is struggling enough as it is.

What may happen is that Rovers will merge with a "smaller" Dublin club - maybe Dublin City / U.C.D. This would be good in that a stronger team would emerge and one less Dublin team would be in de league.

If need be .... but i agree, we cant lose any teams.

And lads .... if they move to Tallaght at all, they will take off i'd say.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Dublin City won't be getting taken over by anyone. You’ll see some of the older clubs going first. If you look at Cork City, they have the name & county colours & it works well. None of the other Dublin Clubs have a Dublin identity. There fan bases are dropping & in some cases their run by committees who can’t make a decision to save there lives.

Pats, Shels, Rovers and Bohs do have a dublin indentity, and above all a very important factor that Dublin City are missing - a history....

Why do some of you guys get so hung up on history. Who cares. Stop living in the past. to people outside soccer or new to irish soccer this means nothing & they don't have a Dublin identity, only because you know their from Dublin, doesn't give them an identity. The problem with soccer in Dublin , is that its too fragmented. the history of clubs prevents new fans joining this old click. So you have the Southside fans of Shels travelling over to Tolka on the northside, Northsiders not following them & Shamrock rovers are in a similar position.
