    Limerick FC v Monaghan United

Why is this match on Saturday at 5pm? Seems ridiculous trying to compete v Liverpool match on telly at the same time and Munster match about an hour after kick off. This is not the way of drawing new fans? Why not stick with Friday evening?

So fans can head to the Markets Field straight after and take part in the "Buster" gamble to win 1000euros.

Good that they can do that but its a pity the race night is clashing with the Munster vs Leinster match. Makes for a nice day of sport for me though

Handy for travelling Monaghan fans too.

I agree Scully to get his first win as boss, the first of many hopefully
I'm looking forward to this game, hopefully we'll play some nice attacking football, although the pitch is not exactly suited to that type of football but we live in hope

Not to mention a home and away agreement which both clubs have this year (so im told) basically a long trip is so much easyer for players and staff if played on a Saturday. Majority wont have go get off work early and so on. Finn Harps games may also be the same this year.

I'm going with a 2-1 home win. Monaghan have had some poor results and after losing to Mervue they'll have something to prove. This is the sort of "should win" game we've struggled with in the past but I'm optimistic this time

I'm going to be optimistic and predict we will win 17-0.

Unfortunately, I am working until 6.30 Saturday, so won't be present to witness the goal fest.

The first of many glorious 1-0 wins this season. I'm excited.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

I managed to get off work early, and decided to head in to the match, and dragged along 3 friends also. My word what a thrilling encounter...

Best parts of the match were:

    a) Seeing that the ball boy in front of the shed was taller than the Monaghan number 3.

    b) The shed doing a running commentary on the progress of a young lad and his new girlfriend down the front by the floodlight pole. Any of you lads from that group on here? For what it's worth - I was standing just in front wearing a Limerick FC scarf, with 3 freezing cold pansies who were drinking away at soup after halftime

Awful game in fairness, i know we always say that when we play Monaghan but this was the worst iv seen, fitness levels in some of the players are not good enough at the moment and 1 or 2 are just not good enough.
Missed 2 sitters aswell but hardly deserved to win.
Only good points were some of our regulars coming back into the team, the weather, and an enjoyable night at the dogs!

Agree with all that. A dire game, never more than 3 passes strung together all evening. Monaghan's 2 tall forwards did a decent job of getting their team possession in the middle of the pitch. We had a great chance to snatch it at the end, but it would probably have been undeserved.
