The 9 against Moy Villa happened because id say everyone was hammered from the night before. game meant nothing to the boro so rule of staying in before matches was abandoned. Not saying that Moy wouldnt have scored 9 anyway, just saying you cant count the last game for the B Team as it meant nothing to them.
Dont think the rule about goal differnce should be changed because of the statement above where teams playing for nothing send out weaker teams at the end of the season. Can you imagine the arguments then?????
Not saying they went out to lose but when they all went out the night before for a bigger game, youd hardly expect them to be up for a match of no importance to them. no team goes out to lose, but if it means nothing how is it unfair. are you saying that your team has never treated a game with less importance to another????come on, get real.....for example, if your team had already got relegated would ye have been up for a match last sunday morning. i doubt it. just the way it happens, and again im not saying they went out to lose, just happened that way.
[QUOTE=sprah1;1275389]Yes they would be up for a match against the champions elect ...if a lot of players were missing for Snug, then thats another matter, looked like only 5 or so of normal regular team played in Moy?[/QUOT
Not too sure how many they were missing to be honest. just saying that in my opinion, goal difference should not come into play for the simple reason is you see these sort of results in every division every year. not saying it is right but its hard for teams to treat every game as the same when theres nothing to play for. thats just my opinion on the goal differece subject.
What you on about Murph. Crazy statment, there was no way in hell Snugboro could have won this game considering the conditions. They played 11 legal players to try and get a result and in doing so got hammered(the night before and on the pitch). I dont think snugboro where even thinking about how Charlestown would do. everything doesnt revolve around your club.....if the tables were reversed last sunday, would ye have had a full strenght team out? i doubt it. welll done ye made the playoffs. concentrate on that now.
At least Snugboro brought 11 players to a game which meant nothing to them.... Ballina Utd turned up in mount falcon with 8. Very poor show for important game, but in their case they were allready relegated and probably just wanted to avoid a fine.
I think everyone knew before the final round that the Charlestown v Claremorris game was the only real juicy fixture in this division and the other 2 were a given before a ball was kicked.
Any reason why the play-off is a month away??
Playoffs in a months time is a joke and the Mayo cup final as well. what were the Mayo FA thinking. How are players supposed to keep going until xmas. cracy decisions that will have to be looked at for next year, especially with the weather the way it is. looks like no game will go ahead this weekend as well so that might be further delays in any playoff match or cup final. crazy![]()
By the time this is finished it will be only a month or two untill pre season, thats a good thing. We play football to enjoy and surely the longer we can play for the better. What would ye be at at home, sitting with a bucket of ice cream crying at a chick flick with the woman??

wouldnt be too bad![]()
understand what your saying but when were waiting a month to play one game it just seems a bit too long. Not too sure how many games Charlestown and Conn have played over the last 2 months, think it could be 3(correct me if im wrong Murph) and now they have to wait another month to play again. just doesnt seem right to me.
And everyone needs a break from a tough season to recharge the batteries and spend a little time with the familyif you didnt get a break youll only get fed up faster with football
