Is the match definately fixed for next week? Credit to Claremorris today they could have been 3 up in the first half we were way off the pace. Few words said in dressin room and we were different team the second half and think we were just about worth the win in the end. Well done to Moy Villa on winning the league anyway fair play to them...
congrates to moy villa on winning division 2
Well done to Moy Villa, and well done to all the people who posted on this thread this year; it was by far the most entertaining of all the mayo divisional threads. best of luck to Charlestown and Conn in the play-offs.
well i would assume that next week will be match time as its getting late in the year
Echo that.
Well done to all teams this year great division and great finish to the season.
When and where is the play-off? Will it be in milebush or will the ML allow it on the holy grail that is their county surface? Dont remember any play-off's allowed there in the past but they will find it hard to get another club to allow the game given the time of year and conditions prommised this week.
No date for play-off yet. Its not on next weekend anyway as ive just seen the upcoming fixtures. Surly the ML wont let this drag on too long. Should be down for weekend after next given that both teams are available and milebush is free?
It only goes to show you how much you support local soccer. All the play off games as far as I can remember were in Milebush over several seasons. I remember it being said on several occasions at league meetings that it was giving an opportunity to clubs to play at the venue. It appears as if you are one of those that never attended any of those games. Anyway well done to Moy Villa on winning the league.
I know it just fine and I also know that Bangor Hibs played Kilmore in a promotion relegation play-off in a neutral venue (Erris)as did Ballyheane b and Charlestown Athletic (Attymass) last year. Maybe you should do a little research before comming on here talking tripe. There was only play-offs between 3rd bottom of the 1st division and winner of 2nd placed team play off in division 2a & 2b up until last year when they decided to do it with the SL. And I also recall that Ballyheane B played 3 play off games last year without setting foot in Milebush. So please dont speak to me about not knowing my local soccer.
Lots of useless proposals come up at so called league meetings but when it comes to the crunch only the top divisional sides are allowed to play in milebush (unless its cup final or semi final stage)
What a load of rubbish these playoffs are. Rangers clearly are ahead of Charlestown on goal difference and should go up. Whats the point in goal difference if its doesnt mean diddley squat. If a club can manage to score a good quantity of goals they should be rewarded for this. Thats what goals are for! More dragged out time for the league
is it true that its on da 13th of december?
Goal difference has never come into it in Mayo football and to be honest it should. But you can count yourself lucky or else ye could have been staring down the barrel of 2 massive humiliating defeats in Snugboro. If goal difference was a factor then ye could be staring at 2 embarrasing defeats in 2 weeks![]()
The only one talking tripe is yourself to suggest in your earlier post that you do not remember any play off games being in Milebush in the past. That is totally false. I saw many play off games in Milebush over the years. Last year may have been different for whatever the reasons but you are wrong to say no games. Check the facts.

Well done Villa on Title win.
It's fitting for this forum(as 50% of posts related to them) that Charlestown and Conn will meet in the play off...should be interesting....Charlestown for me.
Thought it strange that ML didn't appoint 3 officials for the Charlestown v Claremorris B match yesterday given it was must win for both...unfair on ref
I think the Mayo Leagues decision not to go by goal difference is well vindicated by yesterdays results when you see Moy rattling in 9 goals against a team that beat them twice already this year. What happened Snugboro? It didn't matter, but could have.
This is our 4th play-off in 5 years and we have not played any in milebush thus far. We played Ballyheane b in attymass last year and a couple of years ago we played Ballina Utd in foxford and on another occasion s&f b in swinford so from our point of view milebush has never been made available for any play-off's.
And its official that the play-off is down for the 13th of December. What a joke a month after the final game, how are guys going to keep interested and fit for a month. Once again the ML give little or no respect to lower divisional teams.

How should we count ourselfs lucky? Our goal difference didnt matter a monkeys to us. It should stand to the teams that are joint in points. Theres no doubt that our score lines were embarrasing but thats my point. If you snooze you lose!!!! Every other league in the world does it
Lucky because if our gaffer hadn't taken off our 2 strikers the day we played ye, we would have reached double figures. We knew the goal difference rule counts for nothing in Mayo and therefore didnt want to humiliate ye, if it had mattered then there would have been a different story.
Still its interesting to note that ye conceeded as many goals in the final 2 games (14) as ye had all season!! what happened why a total collapse?? From the tightest defence in all divisions to a free for all![]()
